Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hi @Shaz51

Good to hear that Mr Shaz finally got to see about his shoulder.

Bursitis can be pretty painful, and is likely caused from injury, ie the fall he had 5 months ago.

Physio is good for helping to recover from bursitis, especially if his injury has resulted in a frozen shoulder, which I think you said he had. Did the Dr mention that they can remove the fluid from around the bursa? And cortisone injections are also helpful. My hubby has bursitis in his elbow. I hope he can get in fairly soon to the physio. Although I seem to recall he was having physio some months back, and it took ages to get in then. Do you have to go far to see the specialist, or is there one near where you live? Hope things start happening, and improving, real soon.

How is your Mum today? Still rejecting all outside help in the home? My Mum doing the same. I arranged for meals on wheels to contact her, but when they rang her to say they were ready to start ... she said "oh no, we are coping just fine thankyou". So she cancelled it. And they ARE NOT coping at all. So frustrating for everyone, especially when I had spoken to her and she had agreed to go ahead with it. If only she were right ... that they are coping ... but they simply arent. I need to get down there to sort some things out. Needs to be me I think. Hard for my brother as he lives 40 mins away and cannot be there every day. He works and has kids.

Well Shaz I really hope your appointment on Monday can provide some reassurance about your own health. Thinking of you .......

hello @Former-Member

today I got the flu needle -- arm is a little bit aching

the doctor was surprised i had not seen my specialist or enchinologist since december

he wrote down lots of notes , gave me some scripts i needed

asked me lots of questions and asked me when my next appt is -- I said in august

soo now the august appt is going to be big , lots of blood tests , ect

the sweating , he is not sure , he went and saw the top doctor and she came and she thinks it is hormonal , so she has topped up one of my meds

then he checked my blood pressure -- it was 101/ 68

mine is usally around the 130

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Shaz51 and thanks for the update.

I got a flu needle a couple of weeks ago. They told me then that a lot of people have been getting a reaction from it this year, ie very sore arm for up to a week or more. I had no reaction at all. So I hope yours eases off soon too.

I too am surprised you have not seen your endocrinologist since December.

Was your GP concerned about your BP being a little lower than usual? Mine is often around the 100/60 level, but that is normal for me and is generally unsymptomatic. If yours is usually around 130/?? then it could bear further investigation. Could you have been a bit dehydrated today perhaps? That can lower your BP, and it could have been something as simple as that which caused the bit of a dip from usual.

I hope the change in meds helps with the sweating issue.

@Shaz51 I guess it's a matter of continuing to monitor ...

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

yes @Former-Member the doctor was not too worried about the BP

Yes the head doctor saw me as well and said we need a more regular checkup so I will have to make another appt for a EPIC care program -- she was not happy with me not being followed up

hope the sweating changes , it is usually when i eat and i start sweating in the face
