Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hello @Shaz51

Oh sounds as though you are on the medical world merrygoround ....for everyone else?

Mr Shaz going on his own to have sunspots removed ....as worrying as that is for him...will also reaffirm how much you do for him...that he is strong enough to go to some things on his own when it is just impossible for you to spread yourself any further....He can feel proud of himself that he managed...

My husband has had that a few times....not pleasant...but they get through it...

Your mum is going through a very difficult time....I feel for her...I have just had day procedure...fortunately my results were good...preparation and ensuing symptoms up to and after the procedure were horrendous...So I know that for your mum would be even harder...

You are a wonderful daughter...wife....stepmum....there for everyone....whilst living with your own ongoing issues..

as others tell you so often....please please take time out for you too....my issues are all as a result of not listening to that advice...

thinking of you Mrs and Mr Shaz....always brings a warm smile to my face...

keep on being the lovely Shaz who you are.....take no nonsense from the miserable...inconsiderate rude medical staff who sadly we have to encounter from time to time...they are the ones with the problem...not you..

Sophia

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

thank you @Sophia1 for you lovely message , yes sometimes we forget to look aftr ourselves , we are busy looking after everything and everyone else that we forget ourselves until our body tell us big time

yes sometimes I wonder if we do too much for our loved ones even though we are happy yo do everything but in the long run is it any good for them

when i think of the times when he could of done that himself instead of me being with him

but then Last night after getting mum settled in hospital , I text mr shaz to pick me up from the hospital ( he does not like hospitals and does not like to stay long )

when we got home he had washed the dishes and cooked dinner

so we get surprised when things like this happens

and my mum and MIL are so indepentant that they find it hard to ask the family to help them

Hello @Former-Member, @Faith-and-Hope, @Determined, @PeppiPatty, @Former-Member, @Former-Member sending you all hugs

I try and let Mr D do as much as possible @Shaz51 but at medical appts he is not taking things in; he comes across so well but things are not sinking in and I am having to chase things up.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

just got home @Former-Member, done our 2 cleaning jobs -- one 2 hours cleaning and then a 4 hour cleaning

had to go to our nearest town 30 kms away to pick up our laptops == being fixed

went to mums , folded washing , then went to visit mum who has to stay in hospital for a few more days

home now , got mum`s washing on , making homemade pizza for dinner

how are you today xx

Mr shaz`s knee is in great pain today - hopping it is not like his dad`s knees -- really worrying him

A busy day for you @Shaz51 and you still have jobs in progress.

Will Mr Shaz mention his knee to GP?
