My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Oh @Shaz51, somewhere there you've crossed the line from pre diabetic to the real deal. Are you on any diabetic tablets? Probably something you ate & / or less activity. The chemists can be really helpful with diabetic management... monitoring etc dads sugar was about that at lunchtime today. Not fair - he doesnt eat much. You take care ❤❤❤

@outlander - you ok? Hard to keep up with all the threads. Sleep well. ❤❤❤

@Former-Member@Shaz51

Re.blood sugar spikes. I think I remember a professional mentioning that spikes can be due to not eating often enough. Little regular meals help even out blood sugar levels, so appropriate morning and afternoon tea plus supper are recommended, along with slightly smaller "main meals", so that the dietary sugars come in smaller doses at regular intervals rather than going hours between food. If the body's gone too long without between meals, then it "grabs" at the sugars when they come, and takes in too much too fast.

Consider this unqualified medical advice and double check it with someone genuinely qualified... but am passing on the info because sometimes small but vital points get lost in transmission (there's a lot to tell and a lot to take in) and if you don't know to ask, you won't ask.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Former-Member, I think he is worrying about everything , any changes in life or in everyday situations he finds it very hard to cope

the Gp asked me other questions today about mr shaz , I have never spoken to a gp about mr shaz and when she brought up things, i thought wow , she wants me to make appts with her always so she can check my onging problems and also my emotional wellbeing

with everything that is happening with me , mum, MIL, and mr shaz , I am finding i have to repeat things to mr shaz and also what we are we doing and tell him what we need to do

also he has had a infected ingrown toenail for the last 3 months , finally he is getting it cut out in 3 weeks so he is worryied about it aleady because of work

@Shaz51 I do hope things ease up a little after toe is done. There are a number of studies that talk about inflammation and MI - don't quite understand it but the twin not good when he has pain.

Really pleased to hear GP is keeping an eye on you, seeing the same doc is so much better for continuity of care esp with all you have happening.

Gotchya hands full there. Some believe diabetes is reversable. My dad was on insulin for 40yrs and they stopped it 2yrs ago after hospitalised with cholecystitis (gall bladder) - just on tablets now. Seems they have more luck keeping sugar down than my blood pressure lol. Do you walk? I'm pre-diabetic with high BP and need to walk to save my life but still can't. How do ppl do it?
Sorry hubby struggles so much. I heard revently a link with gut bacteria & the mind, and untreated worm infestation. With myself, boosting vegie intake seems to make a difference. Does he take Vit-D? Natural methods make subtle but lasting difference.
Sorry, rambling again.
One day @ a time Shaz ❤
