Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Feeling your frustration Shazzle Dazzle. I have found that Mr D is not in the right space to think logically when he is anxious. I have found simple acknowledgement to be the best way to go, asking Mr D if something is worrying him and to let me know if I can help. So far any offer of help has been declined, so I leave him to his misery and do something for myself.

Have you got a jigsaw on the go or something else you can distract with @Shaz51?

Keep talking about it if it helps @Shaz51

I hate having to leave things unsaid, although sometimes that's all you can do...

I've seen far better days, than recently (it's been tough).

On a positive note - I just bought birds off Gumtree, & I've never ever done that before...

I don't adapt well to online shopping & stuff, I find that too complicated (often) & anxiety-provoking.

So if I can't buy things in a shop, I just don't get them at all.

Java finches @Shaz51 They're lovely, & have such a nice song.

I've kept them for years, 3 of mine died, & they're a bit hard to find (to buy).

They were just $8 each, when they're $20 in the big bird shops (when they have them).
