Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Good morning, @Shaz51, saw you online here so thought I'd send well wishes for your day. Crossing fingers no infection. Do you get a rest time today? ox

You have no idea how cool it is to be back......

actually @Shaz51 I've got news for you.... One of my high school friends was outside the licensing branch when I was there yesterday. We are all 50 years old, 51 this year. She told me that she's just got diagnosed bi polar 11 and she's not coping with the diagnosis and she's been told that she can go on a med she doesn't want to go on.

I asked her permission to get details on the med and told my hubby. He says that for years and years he fought with the Doctors, he self medicated and only when he met me, he obeyed. He says his life is better now. ( he pulls a face when saying this )

he says to do what the Doctors say. they know what they are talking.

Hi @Shaz51 been feeling ok this week, but still have to be gentle with myself. My cat was in the vet this week for a 5-teeth extraction, poor guy - and apparently more to come in the next year or two. He’s 10 1/2 now and using up his nine lives, but is back to his spritely self this morning 😸
I hope you have a nice, soothing weekend! 🌤

Hello @PeppiPatty

love the idea of Little Buddha pulling a face ...

@Shaz51

Yeah ... the getting old caper is a pain.

Dentist told me about all the head ache, jaw and neck pain etc that I must be suffering ... I said yeah ... I know ... I have been trying to do all the right things to reduce it ... and not say anything and hope it goes away ... but at least she was good ... and I realise I understate my pain rather than make a big deal .... oh my rellies were so horrible ... so I have to not think about them or I get upset.... just focus on what is good in the now ....

@xtine @outlander

just focus on what is good in the now ....yes @Appleblossom, that is what we need to do , my aunty and cousine says " ohh everyone has arthritis " and My aunty tells me all the time " she has only one kidney too ""

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Yes @Shaz51 I have had lots of those comments, but not everyone has crippling chronic neck pain in ther late 20s ... that is why NOW that I have survived I realise that it is unnatural to be forced to do so much and unnatural for rellies to be so nasty. Probably has more to with their guilt re not helping us and the deaths, than it is about me, If they ever want to reconnect I will wary as hell.
