Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Dear @outlander

it's really good to see you...... I've not been doing self care very well..... Sorry, I'll rephrase that : I've been pretending to self care but always on the back of my mind has been that early early old deadness of black heavy on the back of my mind.

Live also noticed that whenever I feel frantic, I start talking about how financially broke I am..... I realised I needed a break. So I grabbed all of our milk money walked into the flights centre and said," I'm going to Adelaide and Sydney and I want food and films, rang my two brothers who live here and told them I'm flying over for 7 days.....paid a neighbour $100 to help me get my home really really clean,

Im so glad you were able to take a break @PeppiPatty a well deserved one at that!
Practicing self care can be hard. Go easy on yourself. Your doing the very best you can ❤

Hi @PeppiPatty my daughter received the early years funding and I’ve applied for the NDIS but I’m not holding out much hope. Dealing with Centrelink has burned me out and the NDIS isn’t much different. I take her to private Occupational Therapy and that’s great. She mostly has difficulty regulating her moods and has high anxiety. I am going to get a referral to the Royal Childrens so that will be an awesome help. I know what you mean about having time off but feeling at a loose end not doing all the caring jobs!!

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

here you are @Appleblossom xxx

just a tic.....

@xtine

im no good with suggestions concerning children and care. I burnt myself out in that it's affected me long term when my sons were that age......

Now I find even going to the petrol station and getting a beautiful $2 hot coffee and sitting in the car for 5 minutes a lovely little 5 minute staying in the moment.

Do you do art and craft or reading or a small time out thing ?

That's great @Shaz51........ Indunno if I feel good about the DIAgnosis but you kinda know where to go from here.......if you know what I mean.......

pin the way of medication and daily wellbeing......

So...... Yes...... Time out is both needed and weird to do. I cannot believe the brilliance of this 7 days I've had off....,,,in fact, it feels like the first time out I've had if. Many many years if ever ........
