Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

i can imagine you would have lots of emotions going on at the moment! its hard to know how much to push sometimes isnt it? and yes, all we can do is take life one day at a time, nothing is guaranteed. we try to stay positive and have faith.

im ok, had some anxiety today (i get chest pains) - i guess ive been on high alert with having mum home. but i am focusing on the good things i see and the progress she is making. its easy for me to focus on how she was before and lose sight of how far she has come. and i am trying to pull back a bit so im not in her face all the time lol

what are you doing this evening? i hope you are able to have some down time xxx

yes that is good @Bella1978 it is hard to pull back a bit so im not in her face all the time lol sending you knowing hugs

my mum have mayjor surgery last year and I was doing soo much , and organizing everything until mum said she can do that now , so I do lots of things but it is hard to know how much to let her do

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Shaz51

and dont get me wrong, i have a lovely face (lol) but she doesn't need it in hers all the time haha

when they need the extra help we are obviously there for them but as they get better they want to start taking over those things again which is so good as they are getting some of their independence back, but yeah, it is hard to know how much to do for them.

i know that mum's health gets her down as she feels she cant do as much as she used to. and that would be upsetting. i told her if she wants to do something and she cant do it on her own, to just let me know and we can do it together. im hoping the more things she sees herself do the more confidence she will regain in her abilities.

we want to be there for them but have to be careful not to be there too much for them ...
