Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@Faith-and-Hope
Mr D organised tonight, I have not said anything negative and hoping it will be a pleasant evening.

When unwell Mr D organises things with gusto, with ill thought out detail and it ends up being too much for him. This time he is insisting on car pooling, picking up a couple in our small car and going to a venue with food we are not fond of. At this point I don't feel overly comfortable with the couple, she is an enthusiastic 'cuddly' type and they are big on miracles ... I am a bit more reserved.

Oh dear @Former-Member ..... scrounging for something to feel good about it for then .... hope there is something unexpectedly pleasant in it for you then.

Wear your favourite colour maybe ? Work out the bits that you can control and make them as okay as you can ?

l am not wanting to control anything @Faith-and-Hope, just really concerned as there are other signs if deterioration as he has again woken up not feeling well. When Mr D mentioned the idea I did suggest perhaps a different venue might be better but I suspect the invitation had already gone out, I just let it go.

This evening I will go with joy, it is a thoughtful thing he has done, the couple are new to our circle. Who knows, perhaps the wife's cuddly persona is hiding someone who is craving connection.

Quite likely @Former-Member .... that might be the unexpected surprise .....

Faith involves anticipating that things can be better than they seem .... and that is exactly how you are sounding. Good for you. I hope to hear something joyous about it tomorrow.

I visited a museum yesterday that tapped into my family history ...., as does the day it is today ..... so here I sit over an Irish coffee and a raspberry almond muffin .... counting my bleassings.

We do have many blessings @Faith-and-Hope, one of which is running water - after doing work in the chook run and tackling a patch of unruly irises in the warm it us something I am truly grateful for.

So often it’s the small things @Former-Member ......

Grateful for a cool breeze at the moment ...... maybe cos of the Irish coffee and my age .... lol ..... can relate to those dwarves.

I am so proud of our S1 this morning.
He went out birthday shopping with Nan and Pa this morning..
He has just arrived home now and has spent half of his allowance on something for his brother (S2) as he is a bit precious and often feels left out.
(Has feelings of rejection and being left out just like mummy ) .
He is just as excited about the giving as he is in his own selection.

A big part is that it is a complimentary item to his own selection so they can play together but still very thoughtful considering the value.

I have all 7 of those Dwarves on a regular basis - the Bloated one is from my bowel surgeries (& permanent bulge)...

I get hot flushes often, my body temperature is totally whacky...
