Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Oh no @Former-Member, that can be equally catastrophic as not enough oil...

Talk when you want to and know we understand when you don't. Be mindful of internalising this though and remember what made you find the forum in the first place. Support, like everything else, comes in ups and downs. The elation you initially feel talking openly with people who can understand is met by your daily reality. It's ok. Look after yourself but please don't go away. Xx

@Sanatorium23

Had been wondering if things weren't so good.

It is so difficult when relapse occurs - is Mr Love paranoid, depressed? Christmas can be such a tough time for both patient and carer

Take time to do a few things for yourself without feeling guilty while Mr L is in hospital. Is the hospital nearby?

Do you find communication with the pdoc to be clear? Have you got some support you can call on?

Sending gentle thoughts your way.

It is @Determined, I can revert to something I excel at - back seat driving.

Feeling for you @Sanatorium23 and know what you mean about the wheel.

I thought we were finally off our wheel after a big year but looking like we getting dragged back on 😕

Is hospital close by for you and are you able to visit? It was a 2 hour round trip for me to visit when my darling was in hospital.
