Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

sorry @Shaz51

meant to say sometimes we with mental illness symptoms go through insecure periods....we do not know what we want or need ....we just know that something is not quite right....so sometimes we are not looking for answers....in fact in my case I would have to say that on most occasions I do not want an answer....advice...

I just want to be noticed....appreciated.....reassured and feel loveable....a loving smile and hug do all of that very well

I know that you do all of these things for mr shaz....he knows that you do too.....he just might need a little more at times if that helps so that life can be a little less overwhelming for a while

@Shaz51

Is this the same kidney infection ongoing or a new one?

Can you recall if Mr Shaz has presented with similar behaviors previously?

I listened to a really good talk about bipolar today.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

hello @Determined @Shaz51

no such thing as perfect

main thing is that we all keep on doing the best that we can because we care and love our families so much

don't be too hard on yourselves..

those of us who have someone in our lives are very appreciative that we have people patiently living side by side with our ups and downs...even if we don't let you know as often as we should

it is just as ok for the one in the carer role to need the reassurance, loving smile and hug so don't be afraid to remind us....just ask

take care
