Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

@Shaz51
I have found my gut feeling to be fairly reliable when it comes to Mr Darcy and I would imagine you would have that same connection with Mr Shaz.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Yes @Faith-and-Hope Topic Tuesday helpful in a number of ways Mr D has been given Bipolar ii diagnosis with personality disorder NOS and anxiety. At one stage it was thought BPD but he does not fit criteria and psych testing ruled it out (he does not have the fear of abandonment, fluctuating emotions or anger, does not self harm but self soothing a problem). Often BPii patients are misdiagnosed with BPD or Sz along the way.
I feel that most with LE on the forum want to get better and I really value their thoughts and think that there is quite a cross over in diagnoses but like with carers there are common denominators in relation to how they feel. Would love to be able to ask a little more than forum rules allow. I find the LE side a bit distressing though so rarely go across there.

I can understand that @Former-Member .....

I bought a book some time ago called Stop Walking on Eggshells that was about living with BPD in the family, not because WH has BPD, but trying to find out more about what he does have that we ought to know about .... and there are some similarities. It was more about finding coping strategies.
