Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Trust you find the strength to stay strong @Former-Member, uncertainty is always hard to process, is for me anyway.

My darlings follow up is on Tuesday. Will be interesting to see how honest she is with him. Things are complicated for her at the moment by having the flu and a UTI.

She has made an appointment to see a particular womens health councillor to discuss some childhood trauma, the friend who has been spending time with her messaged me and asked me to encourage her to see this lady. Hoping for some positive results out of this.

Last night we both went to bed early and she forgot her meds, (is particular about having them at the same time so didn't want to have them early, was going to get up at the given time to take them but fell asleep) this morning anxiety is not good. Will be getting through today with the help of regular prn , as prescribed of course.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

One thing I am grateful for @Shaz51 is that Mr Darcy will liaise with pdoc in relation to meds. I know Mr Shaz is not amenable to having to be reassessed. I think it is the monitoring that would concern me. Mr Darcy has been completing a bipolar mood chart since he came out of hospital - would Mr Shaz be happy to do this to document things if he does make changes? These are readily available on the internet - has spots for meds, anxiety and depression levels.

When he had his attempt Mr Darcy was put on a few meds, he really doesn't want to be on any but I would not support that. He has discontinued a couple. After he has had his surgery I will advocate for him to go down one more med, which I am happy to support. If his diagnosis is right from what I read he should be able to go off it quite safely but there is ways risk, will see what pdoc says at the time. I am slowly learning not to be afraid.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Got a phone call today, Mr Darcy has appt at pre-admission clinic next week, will see anaesthetist and orthopaedic doc and see what if any presurgical work up is needed. Finding this might be adding to the complex grief that he has.

Hi @Faith-and-Hope - I see that you are awake. I am too and shouldn't be at 3:00am. Just mulling over some stuff.

Hope all is okay with you. Or as well as can be.
