Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness
When I had major issues with GERD @Determined I had to cut all white flour products .... all simple carbs .... not cutting out food groups, just cutting back the sugar foods which include dairy and fruit. Apparently the body "reads" white flour (any grain) as a sugar ..... so if you log your sugar intake for the day, tick that column for dairy, fruit, white flour bread, pasta, white rice ...... it was a shocker for me !! Had only a few ticks in complex carbs, proteins, fats (need to be divided into nominally "good" and "bad" fats so care is taken with them), more in veg and dairy, but sugar went off the page when you took all those items into the boundary. Tick dairy and fruit columns for those foods, but tick sugar as well and see what happens.
