Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Goodmorning @Shaz51

Oh you poor thing, worried about hubby and getting a headache too, glad you are taking the rest of the day off so you can relax/rest if you can, it seems like your body is telling you too

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Shaz51 Are you able to talk with hubbys Doctor and schedule an appointment for this week. Maybe before he shuts down again. Give hubby a plan, today we take it easy but tomorrow we will do this, and so on. He may hate it but structure is good. Bring a routine in to fall back on when all you want to do is rest and not think. Write the routine down so all you both have to do is look at that list on the fridge. Basic stuff like, Lunch, sit outside, watch the birds, whatever he shows an interest in. Tv time, rest time, bed time. My pysc told me to do this with daughter and I was amazed how it took pressure off both of us

If you are still really worried about his state of mind @Shaz51, can you ring the dr's surgery and just let them know, so someone else irl is aware of your situation ? While you are not well yourself, someone else should have their finger on his pulse along with you ......

Hugs n hugs Hon ..... hang in there and make sure you are looking after you as much as him.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

I'm okay @Shaz51. WH is being a rat-bag ..., taking over management of the house and then accusing me of not keeping the house ..... grrrrr !! .... trying to implement mil's ideas about micro-managing everyone and everything otherwise you are a negligent, lazy housewife ..... :face_with_rolling_eyes:

It's more of his control issues kicking in as he panics over S2, and is cringing internally at what the pdoc has said so far .....
