yes, that's totally alright to ask! i studied psychology for 4 years. different companies have different expectations - for example, if you want to be a peer worker at SANE, then you need some sort of qualification in psychology, counselling, social work or peer support/mental health. the other peer support company i worked for, they didn't care if you studied or not, they just looked for proof that you can support others in a recovery focused and safe manner. but most places expect a mental health peer support certificate at the least, which takes 1 year full time to complete. i hope that answers your question 😊
