@ArraDreaming went back and had a read through. You're in VIC right? I think this might help - it's an email addy for the Commission for Children and Young People, hopefully they can help you find the answers you're looking for: contact@ccyp.vic.gov.au

I honestly don't know enough about how the Child Protection Dept works to be able to give you solid answers to those questions. I can very much understand why you're worried, but I do agree with @PizzaMondo in that even if there was an inquiry, it is clear that you put monumental effort into providing a safe and stable home for your kids. I'm sure the Child Protection peeps have much bigger fish to fry.

Do you have any kind of indigenous support services around you? Could also be worth reaching out to them, I imagine they'd have more insight into stuff like this, as well as helping you figure out if there truly is anything to worry about. I really believe that there is genuinely no cause for concern, but seeking some info from folks who know more than I do could help you to find some reassurance.

Re: Does anyone want to talk

Unfortunately it's just not our area of expertise @ArraDreaming - I mean I don't even have kids, nor have I ever worked with youth specifically, so I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to CP stuff. Hence why I reckon you'd find more luck by getting in touch with a local indigenous support service - not only will they be better equipped to provide you the right info, but they'd also be more adamant about doing everything in their power to ensure your kids stay with you.

I really wish I had answers for you mate, but I don't want to lie or give you potentially incorrect information just to placate you. All I can do is sit with you, and hope that it makes even the smallest of a difference for you 💜
