As for your question, I am unsure of the legalities so I would not be able to give you a proper answer. I really don't know - my question is WHY would they even consider doing that in the first place, but I also do not want to provide any misinformation because child protection is not our speciality.

However, I'm curious about the questions that are coming up for you - have you written them down anywhere? Rather than calling, is emailing them an option? Or is the thought of them thinking you have "something to hide" is what is stopping you from asking them directly?
