It is probably no surprise to you but you were the kind of kid I am drawn to in my work. The most special (and memorable) kids are those that can overcome so much they have going on in their lives. I suppose it is partly due to knowing the heartache they must be feeling and connecting with them as a little person rather than for their behaviour. There are no 'bad' kids @ArraDreaming

Awwww thanks @ArraDreaming I would have loved to have a little Arradreaming in my class - you certainly would have been a challenge but I have no doubt you would have stole my heart - just as you have done here over the time you have been with us.

Oh @ArraDreaming that is just awful. I used to pay for the kids that couldn't afford things like that (no wonder I am broke lol). My previous school was a low income school so I would end up paying for nearly half the kids ...and I would not change that for the world - just to see their faces was enough.
I am so sorry you were treated so badly - that principal in particular should not have been in the job.
One of my previous principals used to get set on a child and they could do nothing right. One day he accused this poor child of doing something but little did he know - the kid had been sitting with me the whole time. He stopped short of calling me a liar but that was the implication - then other adults stepped in to back me up and he had nowhere to go. I will never forget that day because it was such a blatant attempt to put this poor kid down and blame them for something they had no involvement in. Never trusted that principal anyway but that cemented it.

I know exactly the kind of principal you mean but I am glad you were there for the kids when they needed someone @Zoe7
but yeah… the bike thing cracks me up, when they tried to confiscate it, I was like nah i’ll be on it so good luck 🤣
some days I didnt ride it but i caused a lot more chaos on those days, I remember at one school I went to they gave me and my younger sibs breakfast and we got to sit in the staff room to eat quietly before school started and I would cart my bike in there every day so it was safe and I could keep an eye on it and I’m sure looking back the teachers were like oh not not this menace taking over our staff room every morning @Zoe7 can you imagine that, if the first thing I came into at 8am was some menace little kids eating toast in the staff room sometimes I would just dump the bike in the doorway without a care in the world teachers stepping over it and people would get so cross hahaha 🤣🤣
