they spent time looking out for me when I was younger when my parents couldnt @Zoe7 wasnt particularly recieved well by me at the time i was bloody hard work, but I appreciate what they did for me during that short time now and I got back into contact as an adult a few years back they even came to our wedding in 2022

That is super cool @ArraDreaming I am so glad you had those people in your lives as they certainly made an impact (even though you were 'bloody hard work'). They must have seen what we all do in you - a gentle, kind and caring boy that has grown up to be an amazing father, partner and friend.

it wasn’t long that I stayed with them but the affect they had on me and the work they put into helping me is levels above any other carer or placement I ever had @Zoe7 that’s why i am in contact with them today…

It only takes one (or 2) special people to see the good in a kid and it can make the world of difference @ArraDreaming These people certainly seem to have been that for you and I am so grateful to them for looking after you and for you to value everything they did for you so highly. I wish life had been different for you but sometimes it is only through the darkness that a light shines the brightest - and you my dear friend are shining brightly 🌟

and that’s exactly right @Zoe7 sometimes it’s like sure things could have been different but my life today would be very different if that was the case, and aside from some challenges I like my life right now…

it’s like how the garden looks the greenest after the rain i could have gone down a completely different path than it is *ahem, not talking about you, brothers* but it didn’t go that way for me

I did a lot of very silly things growing up that people could have turned there back on me for… actually, most did and I distinctly remember a school principal giving me a hard time but some people the most important ones stuck around

Yeah I get that too @ArraDreaming I went away to escape home and came back with a different perspective - and went back to study teaching ...and am where I am now. That is the super short version of course. Would we change the past - yes probably, but has it made us into the people we are today - definitely - and look what you have ...a beautiful family, a job you love and a life that (for the most part) you are happy in. Hold onto those wonderful things buddy - you are doing well 🥰
