hi im not exactly sure how to put this so that it makes sense without going into to much detail but the last couple of months i have had a problem with my mental state that i havent had for almost 10 years and the hardest thing about is that last time i delt with it on my own and managed to supress this problem but its back and i just cant seem to do what i did last time and im worried about the ppl around me finding out as i dont exactly want them to know. it doesnt affect my abilty to do day to day stuff at least not yet and i dont feel like im in harms way but i really want to be able to make it go away
They predicted an 'asthma thunderdstorm' for today

Hi @darrenhayes
You have chatted on my thread in the carer's forum .... my story is there ....
My hubby is in denial with an eating disorder. No diagnosis means no treatment. It's hard on the family. We have chosen to walk along with him till he wakes up to the state he's in.

Hi @darrenhayes
I haven't heard of Meaning Therapy but it would be a good topic for you to start a new thread on.
Try it out this side of the forum in Our Stories and Expriences or perhaps Looking after our Wellbeing.
Look forward to reading your posts!
Regards,
Frog

Re: need advice urgently
hi everyone thankyou so much for replying i have read what you have all said and it makes me feel better knowing that im not the only one in this type of situation but at the same time my situation is extremely different to most. when i was younger i was sexually abused while in foster care and looking back i probably did this as a way of coping with the trama but i created myself a friend as such everyone around me thought i just had an imaginary friend but eventually i started to try and become her i cant exactly remeber what i did to stop that but i do know that it had to do with being there for my younger siblings as once we left fostercare i pratically raised them. i have had a triggering experinece recently and im not going to go into it but im hearing her voice and it is freaking me out i never thought she would come back i have finished with my psychologist for the year and the only way to get more appointments is pay or be admitted to hospital i know this is probably not what some were expecting but im almost at the point of not being able to cope with it

Re: need advice urgently
Hi @Former-Member
Thank you for sharing so much. I went through a lot of abuse when i was a child. and also raised my siblings pretty much. I struggle with a lot of the left over damage from back then, as well as more recent stuff. I'm sorry that you've been triggered and have this friend/voice interrrupting your life at the moment. I want to say that i dont think any less of you, or think you're weird/strange or anything like that because of it. I dont understand the way the brain works but i know i can completely disappear inside myself and be completely on autopilot while it feels like someone else takes over the helm of this body at times. I think it has to do with ways that I survived the abuse that happened. To do with dissociation and what not... I would suggest that seeing your psychologist would be really good for you (i don't know where i'd be without mine!)... but i know how hard it is to afford everything at this end of the year in particular. If it gets really overwhelming you can still call lifeline or other lines like that.. maybe even ASCA or i think they're called Blue Knot now? for informaiton (i havent used them, but read somewhere that they help provide counselling/referrals for adults after abuse).
here listening
