see perks of not owning a house I guess because we could not afford that
Yeah we live on a hill so the water has gotten in the external side door and pretty much travelled direcrly towards our stuff. Most things were in plastic tubs and I could move them quickly, but a sentimental wedding present has been damage only a little bit but enough but Im yet to share that information with the person that will be upset over it

the issue now is just working to keep the water out now that we a lot of it mopped up and dried because of it gets much higher it could come in through the internal door @Zoe7

Yes, it IS a lot of money. And that's not even the entire roof. That's only the damaged areas.
The guy that came out to quote us actually underquoted (hence he was sacked). When the boss came around, he said it would cost much more but because that was the quote, that's how much we are paying @ArraDreaming @Zoe7
So it would've been even more!
Anyway, I'm hopping off now.

Hey @Zoe7 thanks very much we got it mostly cleaned up and I’ve managed to patch up where the water came in but the next down pour will be proof if it works
landlords will get a property repair person in just needed a quick patch up for now

So glad you got it mostly cleaned up and patched up for now @ArraDreaming Did you save the sentimental thing?
I am okay. Had pain meds earlier that have now started to work so feeling better than I did even half an hour ago. I have some work to get done today so being in less pain will help.
I am switching between making labels for my class next year and some other work I have to do. I love making labels, etc. for the kids so that is a bit of fun for me. The other work is interesting so I am enjoying that also - just have to make sure I do not sit for too long and get some rest in between (which I often 'forget' when I am engrossed in something).
Any plans for today or are you all still stuck inside? How are Mrs jay5 and bub?

Yeah I copped it a little because I put in the garage when it should have been in the house to start with @Zoe7 but whats done is done.
Everyone is pretty healthy here, all better, I’m actually about to take my boys to a little citizen science thing down the coast not too far from where we live, I think it’s more geared towards bigger kids + adults but I think they will like just the beach walk and stuff… if it’s not for them that’s fine it didn’t cost anything for us because we have a membership to this little environmental group that’s running it
Most of the morning has just been outside doing house things cleaning the garage and stuff like that
I’m glad you have fun little things you can do at home for your job

I wish I was coming with you guys - I love sciency things and the beach. One of my kids in our class loves whales - specifically exploding whales lol I think she knows everything there is to know about why whales explode - and takes great delight in telling everyone else as well as including it in all the work she possible can. She is also really cheeky (but in a good way) and I am very fond of her. I have had her for two years so next year without her humour, help and cheekiness, I will very much miss her.
Have a great day with your boys. These are the days/moments they will remember ...Dad just being there with them will add to that joy.
