My husband and I are going through separation. My choice, it has been coming for years. But I stayed and made it work for our kids, I’m just scared of the unknown. And don’t really have anyone to talk to.

Re: Separation

Hi @Bow,

Thank you for reaching out.

We are still in the beginning stages of our separation. So still living in the same house. I haven’t been happy for a while now, my children are a bit older than what yours were. I know I’m making the right decision, just the fear and reality starting to kick in now. By end of January, we will be separated.

Re: Separation

Hey @Supergirl

The whole living under the same roof while separated is hard! I did it for a couple of months while I tried to secure a rental of my own. And because I was on centrelink benefits they had some strict rules for us to follow. I was not allowed to wash his clothes or cook meals for him- my ex hated that! We already had separate rooms cause he was a Terrible snorer and we watched tv in our own space.

do your kids understand what’s happening?
make sure you get yourself some legal advice. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people and it helped so much. Know what you are entitled to and think about your future.
happy to answer any question’s you might have.

And remember… it’s gonna be tough but it will be ok.
