Re: Tabaluga's

@Appleblossom You said that beautifully. It does matter that there is empathy when we reach out. Reaching out is the first step to recovery. Expressing our feelings in a safe way in a safe space with peers establishes a foundation to recovery. It’s not linear as we all know and it can be a bit messy at times but it’s a building block. I am sorry to hear you’ve too have been struggling recently. Is there anything you’d like to share? No pressure. A good part about SANE is that our family here understands, listens, knows there’s times when it’s really tough and that people need a space to safely share how their journey is going. Then people respond and it validates and provides hope that better times will come. The psychiatrist in the psychiatric ward I was in recently said that expressing how we feel first, having those feelings validated is genuinely a recovery focused part of the healing process.

There is such a lack of funding for services to call and accessibility is very poor too. Many people say that it’s such a bit and miss when contacting a service. It’s systematic issues and a real lack of funding.

Re: Tabaluga's

@TAB Dont be hard on yourself. Starting a new job is hard you have to learn so many things and figure out a lot on your own too. It really takes time to learn the job for everyone. Everything you do each day teaches you more ablut the job even if you make a mistake by asking wrong person etc. You are new and offcourse it will take time to know exactly what to do. I am glad it is closer to home too. So much better. I’m also happy to hear you pay is higher than someone else told you. How come still not paid for 6 weeks? Do they have a hard system to figure out to put your pay hours into the system? I had one Jov it took me two months to figure out how to get paid so many issues with their online system to get paid. Eventually I learned how to do it!

Re: Tabaluga's

@Bunniekins Yes it has been a while and I missed by Bunniekins! Guess what? I am slowly slowly diing some art. I’m no artist I just do it as craft. Here’s something I did recently in the psychiatric ward. It’s very sparkly!

This one I did at home and the little craft book was made by another patient.

Re: Tabaluga's

@Cuddlebear

It is accumulated stress and trauma for years. I am very sad about how the family has unfolded. People are doing their best, but its not great scenarios. Its hard watching people I love suffer. Personally I am trying to engage socially, and finding it hard work, although this morning at church there was a genuine sense of warmth. One of the old guard, was saying I was part of the team and we were joking, but later I talked on deeper levels with a few other people, which will be good for me and educating the church.. It important for me to be able to be vulnerable and respected, that I dont have to always mask, cover up, be capable, be a joker and just do the job required.

Yes, the services need better organisation and funding.

Do you have any plans for this week?
