Re: Tabaluga's

Hey @Taali you will be allright, love. Maybe just have to settle into your scheduled appointment and get her to see how youre going and for her to lead the conversation? Maybe mention you are feeling slightly anxious for no reason and for her to cut you a bit of slack for today. Theyre there to support you even though you feel like you are not presenting well today ♥️

Re: Tabaluga's

@TAB I have always been interested in different animal behaviour. Had some good dog behaviour conversations yesterday, and maybe finally encouraged a dog owner to stop yelling at her dog and disrupting our singing group. The little terrier yaps more when her human boss barks at her all the time. Surprise Surprise.

@SmilingGecko Yes, I have noticed that about more upper class folks, they have less to prove in being fancy, and have different ways of asserting themselves. I am weird, maybe cos of my childhood with siblings in different placements, I was just exposed to a huge range of people and families. My rich brother (who stayed with foster) kept clothing casual. Also we were with IBM when they were among the first to introduce casual Fridays in the workforce. For me, I go with being grateful, I have enuff clothes to cover myself so I dont get locked up for streaking, and can even match appropriate clothes to appropriate environments and activities. lol

@Historylover I liked that Spinoza was Dutch and been looking at all that stuff for a long time.

I dont read the dense stuff any more, not like I did when at uni. Mostly I am happy to get the general thrust of the works, but do little 10 minute dips into the material. I have always had a philosophical bent, more than a dogmatic one, but dropped out of philosophy at uni, cos lecturer was too dry.... and forgot that philosophy meant love of wisdom, not pedantry. Lol Then I went back to piano. Dont regret it, but still love philosophy.

Ullo ullo @StuF @Meowmy @TAB @Taali @DownMoreThanUp and all ...

Re: Tabaluga's

Went well, thank you 😊

I'm so stupid!

Although she did mention that fact that I lipsmack. I was experiencing similar problems with my lips 💋 when I was teaching.

I really don't want to start it again.

@MissGremlin

It's a terrible thing to do!

I remember an old lady who my mother knew doing it and I thought she was weird!!

Hey, how's your day going?

Re: Tabaluga's

Yes, and she's talking about cutting me back. @SmilingGecko

I kinda thought we were friends for some reason

I know that it's a professional visit, but was hoping that it was a bit more. I mean she even brought me some new bras, don't ask????

Re: Tabaluga's

Yeah @Appleblossom I know that I shouldn't jump to the "mentally unwell " place.

To some extent that was tongue in cheek 😋

However I'm interested in the alternative approach to mental health you are posting here.

I'll try to look at it today.

How're you going anyway dear friend?

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali idk. I knew a social worker years ago that wanted friendship with one of her colleagues and possibly more interest from us from a support group. She sounds like a nice worker and I'm sorry to hear shes cutting back. When I was really sick once my psychiatric nurse brought me my food shopping to tie me over (this was before internet home delivery) For me I wouldnt do it, you get to see how they live and you wonder why you ever got support from them in the first place. It could cause a crisis in confidence and you dont really know how vested she really is with you apart from professionally. Just trying to protect you. It could put you off other workers in future especially if something goes really wrong

Re: Tabaluga's

Glad we can talk and that you made it explicit @Taali ... I can see it in the context. It can be a problem with irony...

I am listening to the noise of drills and my son and friend doing work in my little courtyard. Its great they are getting things done and also having fun together. I actually have been lucky enough to often enjoyed my WORK, and want that for my boy. Intrinsic worth and a sense of fun and feeling good, are more complicated than going out and partying .... lol .... for me partying ... was usually not fun ... lol ... Weary sigh .... dont mean to be difficult.

Sending good vibes.

Re: Tabaluga's

Oh! She's delightful really.

The cutting back is an organisational decision.

@SmilingGecko I've been very impressed with her and she has really stuck it out with me.

I was quite the oppositional client for the first few visits

Better now though!!

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali I am nerdy enough to want to be very careful not to confuse... Healing hippie vibes... Good Good Vibrations 😂 😜 and all those less gentle machine vibes. They have a place and we put up with, but thankfully, they aren't the only kind.
