Hearing you about depot meds @SmilingGecko I am really glad you have managed to get over being on the depot, and it makes sense why you work so hard to counter its impact.
Didn't the medical community make an oath?

It wasnt even informed consent was an involuntary patient and was given it against my will. Without going on about it it did a lot of damage. The doctor who gave it to me was abusing patients on the ward and deserves to go to jail

@Taali you're so welcome sweet ❤️.
Things are pretty tough here, need to try to remember to just put one foot in front of the other, even when those steps are shaky.

@Taali There was a news report about him he was alleged to have given a young man around 30 successive rounds of ECT because he had treatment resistant psychosis. They called in Geoff Kennett I think who is a patron of Beyond Blue to advocate for this man going by memory to stop the psychiatrist from giving this man ECT against his will. The psychiatrist used to abuse patients by displaying his wealth like having a yacht to deliberately provoke people with his riches. As if anyone would care? He did it deliberately and laughed yet into the future appeared in front of the media professionally composed and "respectable". When I was being assessed by him he tried to abuse me but I was able to stand up for myself. We had a nurse from the same ward assault a patient by putting pressure points on him for no reason that police use which are known to k!ll. I was a witness.

YEE GADS!
@SmilingGecko
That's just awful 😖
It sounds like a really bad movie!
I didn't realise that there was still involuntary treatment being administered....
However I suppose unwilling patients could be a danger to themselves and others.
But what you're describing is way out of professional and ethical standards.
I'm glad you could get out relatively unscathed.

@Taali I think they call involuntary status being "sectioned" these days. I tend to think psychiatry only has a limited toolkit and they overuse therapies in a way that is tantamount to malpractice or negligence in the case of the young man I mentioned. Especially if there is malicious intent involved in the case of this psychiatrist. I guess I got away, I'm not so bold these days as I'm older and have lost strength. I did go to the complaints office in the main hospital when it happened but was told that the psychiatric unit on the hospital grounds was not covered by complaints so there was no-one to go to, to report things. I havent been to a psych unit in 27 years since 2000 and that is how I'd like to keep it
