Hi there, I'm looking for some advice or hoping for some positive guidance
Some of you will be familiar with my journey with my niece and, In fact carried me through it.
I find myself in a difficult situation where I don't know what to do..
Well here goes:
After receiving her call where she told me that she was under the bridge near the river with pills and imagining herself floating rahrahrah
I talked her home to her DV husband and had to deal with his abusive comments which basically ended up with "I'm sick of this f***ing sh!t"...
I drove to her home and talked her into allowing me to take her to ED
Spent many hours there before she was put into a "sanctioned " bed and eventually moved to the mental health facility attached to the hospital. 36 hours later....
i must admit I was glad to go home as i was physically and emotionally drained.
Then 2 days later after many phone calls to my family excluding her mother (my estranged sister) on and on.
She went missing, not at hospital not in the mental health facility she was supposed to be transferred to.
I called and called her and everyone trying to desperately to find her, only to finally get a message from her daughter saying that she was home resting in bed. Which is what they seemed to have wanted!
And that she would call when she was FEELING better
That was 5 days ago.
I finally got a message from her last night telling me that she had made the decision to go home due to a bad experience in the hospital clinic and worried that I'd be fed up with her, which I am ashamed to admit I am.
I didn't reply immediately because I was in fact P'd off
I eventually replied asking her to call so I could speak to her. Rather than texting
Anyway I'm not sure that I can go through all of that again, as selfish as that sounds
I simply can't do it without triggering myself big time!!
So there it is.
She hasn't called or replied to my message and I'm at a loss to know what to do
I don't want to let her down as many family members have, in fact, most have written her off.
Not to mention her mother who is or has become a nasty person
Just hoping that you are able to offer some advice guidance or just have read this

Hi @Taali ,
It sounds like you've been carrying an enormous amount, and what you've experienced with your niece sounds incredibly difficult and exhausting. You've clearly done a lot to support her, whilst also recognising the impact this is having on your own wellbeing.
It's okay to acknowledge your limits and to make space for yourself too. If you become concerned that your niece is in immediate danger, please contact 000 rather than feeling you need to manage the situation alone. You can also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 for support around what you're navigating.
Please take gentle care of yourself.

Morning @Taali You're in a hard position. How old is your niece? All I can say is to do what you have to, to protect your own mental health. 💚
