@Chasingsunsets hello lovely how are you? Just thinking about someone whom I had fond memories of today. Spending the afternoon reminiscing a friend who stood by me with my mental illness in the early days while my other friends fell by the wayside. You couldnt have asked for a better person. I wonder what she is doing these days. I did check in to her facebook page several years back and told her what she meant to me all those years ago. I needed closure. I think we broke up due to religious beliefs but in spite of that I will always remember the kind young woman who visited me every day in hospital. Sending me cards and handmade gifts fashioned with love. Her mother was a psych nurse. One of the few who lifted patients up instead of tearing them down. I saw plenty of that during my tour of the psychiatric system. She would have been a good nurse. Looking back I cant begin to think how hard it would have been for her breaking ranks with mob mentality at the nurses station and feeling guided to adminster her duties with good conscience and proper caretaking. It makes me think there are good people in this world. I dont know what my friend is doing now. She was no longer married to the same person I knew. I'm no longer on facebook. But I will never forget this lovely young friend who stood by me!

I can relate in a way with holding great memories of a support person, however it was a person I never got to meet, wouldn't know what she looked if I walked past her and all I knew was her first name. She supported me for four years at the being of my MH journey, young, untrusting and unwell. I will always appreciate the time she spent with me and the help she provided along the way. I acknowledge I would not have been the easiest and so thank her even more for sticking with me. She was the most consistent support person I ever had as I move from time to time so all my support networks are generally time bound.

@Chasingsunsets yes we always cherish those who were genuinely there for us. Last time I checked she was in IT. When I met her she was a jeweller apprentice. She had problems with her apprenticeship and wasnt given proper training which caused her lots of disappointment. So she must have gone back to higher education to get retrained in IT. Anyway she was a lovely young woman when I knew her. She carried the type of energy that people were attracted to. Everyone including the checkout cashiers warmed to her. She radiated kindness and people just loved her. Anyway I hope this chapter of her life is going well and life is kind to her. I tried to find her online this afternoon. I'm no longer on social media except tiktok but no presence. I just have to carry her memory in my heart. I cant turn back time. I wish I could but sometimes people are in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. We were together for a season. I will always remember the love she showed for other people
