I'm new to this website. I'm having major problems but haven't introduced myself yet on the "introduce yourself" page, but I figure that the most immediate thing I should do is find some people to potentially chat with.

This seems like a long chat thread. Is it more or less the "main" thread for social chat?

I've seen people refer to "notifications" for this chat. Is there an app interface for this website that does notifications? The website hasn't asked my web browser for permission to send notifications.

Does anyone have any good tips for social media where sensible discussions are had, ie not dating or other paid apps or weird video streaming of one-sided conversations where the streamer barks at commenters?

I'm very physically and socially isolated.

You can receive email notifications by going to your profile picture (top right) opening settings and selecting the notification option there.

I am definitely recommending this site for anonymity and decent discussions

We are a very diverse group who provide acceptance and support in a thoughtful way, well mostly anyway.

where it says'profile ' think top right under pic or pic space click on that and find 'settings' set to get email notifications.

..not that I know of or have heard of. doesnt mean there aren't any though.
