Hi

  • I have recently been diagnosed with having Psychosis. I’d appreciate anyone else who has this diagnosis to talk about your experience with me.

Re: Jarrah

Hello Jarrah and welcome.

I suspect everyone's experience of psychosis would be different. It's been many years since I've needed hospitalisation but some of my experiences were intense and troubling.

Was this your first experience of psychosis?

I found it helpful to reflect on early signs things were going downhill, and have strategies in place with my mh team and family. Good communication and self awareness helped.

It can take a while to find the right meds and "titrate" the dose. Some meds have unpleasant side effects but these can often be mitigated. Having a good working relationship with your psychiatrist is very important.

Is there anything in particular you'd like to discuss? If you'd like to reply please type @ in front of my username so I'm notified of your response.

Best wishes

Dimity
