Not coping very well. No motivation. Seems like i am always there for my family. Listening to them, supporting them . But i feel so very alone. my husband wrote an email to my psychiatrist , and it was very evident that he has no understanding of my mental health issues. weve only been married 42years! My psychiatrist was gobsmacked, and sat there shaking his head saying it was unbelievable . He has sugested that we have couples therapy . so that is still to be arranged. My psychiatrist leaves in two weeks time, so that isn't helping. i dont know what to do
If you are 20 don't compare your life to a 40 yr old etc that will lead you to feeling inadequate

Re: Feeling very alone
Hi @Chris, so relate to those heavy feelings and dark thoughts that seem to make sense. "had plenty of life experience (enough) " feel too worn out with everything" "passed use by date" "cant go on... "
"Yep, depression comes and goes like the tide, sometimes a dunk waves and sometimes a tsunami. But one thing I have observed, life will end one day anyway. The purpose is to create as many moments of joy possible to take with us, and, maybe, just maybe, if we relish even the smallest of good moments long enough - they just might spur us along to live yet another" ~ Bithiah
Hang in there Chris, its not over yet. Big hug xox

Re: Feeling very alone
Well saw my psychiatrist this morning. Told him exactly how i feel. We didnt really come up with a plan. Talked a fair bit about him leaving next week. He gave me quit a bit of extra time which i was grateful for. Alot to think about now. Three extra people over Christmas for about a week. Will be very challenging. Husband is planning a holiday for early February. Such a long way off.

Re: Feeling very alone
Hello @Chris,
That is nice you got some extra time with your psych, I can imagine there is a lot to think about after that session.
A holiday will be well deserved after a full on time during christmas. Make sure you get some time to yourself when you can over that time, whether its ducking out for a quick coffee by yourself, a walk or just some time alone to read a book. I hope you are able to do some of that to help relax.
