Nobody to turn to..

Nobody to turn to..

I have nobody to turn to, so I'm posting here.

When there is a lot of people about, like anywhere in public, I hear voices in my head, that's derogatory, and I feel full embarrassed and insecure.

And it feels like everyone can read my mind and out in public, I feel insecure and embarrassed.

Feels like people are all watching me. Feels like they all talk about me amongst each other.

I talk to myself on the inside as well.

My biggest problem is that I can't feel any emotions and vibes. And nobody takes me seriously when I tell them that I can't feel any emotions. I used to fully feel the vibes at the beach or on deep Summer nights, the good vibes, but now I just feel flat, numb, blunt. Like I just merely exist and can't enjoy life. I can't smell the air anymore.

Nobody needs to reply to this, I'm just letting it out, hoping for nothing in return.

Thanks to everyone who read it this far, and have a great day you guys!

Cheers.

Hi @CharGrilledChar 🙂

I'm hearing a lot is going on for you, and you've taken the step to share about it here, thank you for sharing 💛

I'm sorry to hear what is happening for you at this time. It sounds like an incredibly difficult space to be in.

Do you have supports in place? It's important to be caring for yourself right now, I can imagine how tough this is on you and it sounds like it can be an uncomfortable experience.

What do you think will help at this time?

For the time being, I wanted to share some resources with you, I hope this sits okay with you:

  • Information on mental distress
  • Have you heard of Hearing Voices? It's a network of people who hear voices or have different perceptions to others. They have peer groups all over the place which are really focused on people supporting each other.

Please know you are not alone and that we are right here with you 💛

Re: Nobody to turn to..

I'm actually working on going to a private psychiatrist.
Because I've had some bad experiences with the public sector.
Hopefully they will treat me right.
The community health team is pretty supportive.
But I'm not going back to asking them for help, because of the bad experiences I've had with them.
Thanks for reading it through though.
I guess I still have to just battle it out day by day with this can't feeling any emotions part.
Cheers.

Re: Nobody to turn to..

I can acknowledge that @CharGrilledChar
Having support that best suits your needs is so important, I hope you receive that from your private psychiatrist. You deserve support 💛

How are you taking care of yourself?

Re: Nobody to turn to..

Hey @CharGrilledChar Glad to hear you have found a psychiatrist. Keep us updated with how you go! 🙂

Also your first post, I relate to, as I struggle with social anxiety and definitely what you have said "I feel as though people are watching me".

Are there things you have found helpful in these situations to get through it?

Re: Nobody to turn to..

That's really good to hear about the private psychiatrist. I do need some support that best suits my needs.
I'm taking care of myself pretty average I guess.
Going for walks around the local park every morning, shower daily, not eating as much as I used to.
Just trying to keep myself busy everyday, so I don't waste my life away while getting there.
Thanks for all the support, I have a bit of asociality so I'll just leave this at that. I can't talk much these days because of the asociality.
Cheers.

Re: Nobody to turn to..

I will definitely write about the private psychiatrist, afterwards.
I can't seem to find anything helpful in those situations at all. I just crawl into myself and try to keep thinking or something like that. Because the CBT & exposure therapy didn't help either so I just wish for those moments to go away by avoiding it and keep on walking. Like the flight response works the best for me.

Re: Nobody to turn to..

Hey @CharGrilledChar

Sorry to hear you're going through a tough time. I know you said you don't expect any replies... But I'm replying anyway haha

Finding a good psychiatrist is tricky. I finally found a good one who listens and makes me feel heard, and it does make a difference when you feel like they actually care. A bit like with most things, you gotta keep trying until you find a good one, and don't feel like you have to stick to one if they aren't helping. I hope they can figure out what's going on and what you need.

Different mental illnesses can cause emotional blunting but there is also a term for it, alexthymia. It's more of a symptom than a condition but it's a real thing people can experience. I was diagnosed with dysthymia for a while and that's a bit similar to what you described. Kinda like you're just existing.

When you've got a lot going on your mind can do strange and annoying things. Sometimes for me it feels like a bunch of different versions of myself bickering away. It can be off-putting and makes stuff even harder than it already is. Take care and we're here if you need!

Re: Nobody to turn to..

Thank you. I'm lost for words at the moment.. Have been suffering for a while and I lost how to socialise and having a normal conversation is very difficult for me. I used to be talkative but that's in the past..
Thank you so much though, I will keep trying to find the right psychiatrist for me. You have just given me encouragement. Thank you, and have a great day!

Re: Nobody to turn to..

I'm sorry your also another who is suffering and even more so psycially alone. I can relate to this. I could be in a room of people and still feel alone and out of place. When I feel alone I remind myself that I've gotten this far alone and that I'm strong enough to keep fighting even if I don't want to I have to. I'm finding the mental health system is in crisis because of so many in need and a lack of good ones who actually know what they are doing. I keep hope that someday maybe il get that help I know I desire and deserve. You too deserve to feel like u have someone especially in Ur moments of despair. If you ever need to chat I'm also a good listener
