Welcome and getting started

New to this

Hello I'm Tara, feeling a bit hopeless unloved and if not for my 2beautiful cats I'd be totally alone.. where does one start??

I have bpd anxiety depression and wanted to link with others to show mutual support..

Wish there was a support group I could attend in my area, this is a great resource but being in the presence of people may be better???

Either way any support is better than none

Re: New to this

@TaraLouise You haven’t done anything wrong sometimes the forums are just slow you know people out there living their lives not everyone is on here all the time but that doesn’t mean you are adding to the hurt or doing anything wrong. There are plenty of people on here who can relate to you hopefully they will stop by and reply soon.

Welcome, @TaraLouise ! Please don't give up...we are here to support you if we can. Please give us a chance. However, I know the feeling of hopelessness...it sucks.

This is a heavy burden - I'm sorry to hear. I have the anxiety and the depression, and lots of others on here have BPD.

For a start, you can try typing those subjects into the Search bar above for threads on those topics. There is also a popular thread called Raising Awareness of BPD - Flipping the Script that you can check out.

Regarding real life support groups in your area, we aren't allowed to recommend actual groups due to our rule here on anonymity - it's to keep us all safe and allow us to be open and honest here on the forums.

I will also tag @tyme and @BPDSurvivor who have great insights into BPD (and across the board too).

An important forum tip is if you type @ and then click on a name in the drop-down box, that person will get a notification and won't miss your reply.

I hope you find the forums supportive...

Re: New to this

you're right @TaraLouise

any support is better than none.

I do hope you find your people here. Sometimes sharing a chat with someone who is going through things, too, will help you feel connected and less waylaid.

All the best. And welcome 🙏

Re: New to this

Hello blackbird11, thank you for getting in touch. Was nice to wake up today and then check my phone to find a cpl of acknowledgments.

Everyone matters and needs to be reminded that they matter..

Do u like cats??

I have a female cat named Chicken Little and kept one of her daughter's which I named Fluffy cos she's Fluffy, put a lot if thought into that one...

Hope your well and have had a great day...

Thanks again very much 🙂

Re: New to this

Hello @TaraLouise

I know it's hard when you reach out and don't get any replies in the moment. Patience is something that is really had to have when you're feeling hopeless.

Is there anything you want to share about what you're struggling with? Sometimes we desperately want to unload our problems but don't want to feel like a burden. Here you can talk about whatever is worrying you. Or not, and we can just talk about cats, that's ok too.

I love cats BTW 🐈

Re: New to this

Hi @SLARBERT ,

I'm sorry to hear you lost your friend. I also have BPD - although very much in the 'recovered' phase.

It hasn't been an easy journey, but it has one worth while.

You are not alone.
