~ The Toolshed ~

So I've decided to create a new space, similar to The Ice-Memery but instead of being silly memes, these are memes/images/words etc. that I've found that are more like tools and insights for recovery. Hence, I welcome you to:

~ The Toolshed! ~

🔧💡🔩🤔

These are things I've found that are insightful, provide psychoeducation, or that have helped inspire me in my recovery journey. I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! But to start us off, I would love to share a nice lil stack of memes/pics I've found that I thought were really worth the read.

P.S. If you haven't already, you can also check out our Coping Toolbox for ideas and strategies to help you when you need to cope with the hard stuff!

So without further ado, lemme kick us off!

Will just tag a few forumites to start, pls do tag anyone you feel would enjoy or wanna contribute to this thread!

I love those @avant-garde! Especially the first one. It's very relevant to a lot of issues i've been dealing with for quite a while.

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@MissGremlin

I love that star one! It's so true literally and figuratively. Every single element in the universe heavier than helium comes from stars, whether the internal processes as they burn or mostly, when they explode. A fun fact is that you can tell what generation a star is by how much of it is made up of heavier elements. The very first stars would have been pretty much hydrogen and helium (a tiny bit of lithium) with no heavier elements... because stars hadn't been around long enough yet to form them and those 3 elements were the only ones formed from the big bang.

Okay, yes, my inner space nerd just get free for a minute there 🤣

@MJG017 she included a quote

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.” ― Carl Sagan, Cosmos

Re: ~ The Toolshed ~

@MJG017 That star stuff one sat with me too

I only just learned that gold is from space "Gold originates from cosmic events like supernovae and neutron star collisions. Formed through nuclear reactions, gold atoms scatter through space and are incorporated into Earth’s raw materials. Accessible via mining and asteroid bombardment, gold’s origins span billions of years."

It really made me stop and think about just how magical it is that we get to wear little pieces of outer space @Glisten @MissGremlin
