Nothing feels real

Nothing feels real

I had a migraine triggered yesterday from barely sleeping and still recovering from it. I slept better last night, mind still feels very foggy. This morning I felt discomfort in my body, my mind went to when I used to feel it years ago. Then I noticed myself feeling distant, sort of floaty. I hope I can get through the day today with uni

Re: Nothing feels real

@Snowie, I feel like being sick isn’t good for my mental health. I’ve noticed on more than one occasion catching something increased my anxiety levels. So strange how human body works. Mind and body connection is so real

It is real @creative_writer

When I am mentally unwell it has such an effect on my physical health too and vice versa.

You are right in saying that being sick does increase our anxiety.

Re: Nothing feels real

@Snowie, I was so mentally unwell in July and August, I’ve been constantly getting sick as a result since. I’m doing better mentally than earlier this year, but it really does take your body to bounce back. Sometimes I do get bouts of anxiety too. Cptsd is a tough diagnosis to have, multiple traumas add layers. I may feel my bipolar is more controlled, but I have so much inner work to do. I’ve been working on re-writing my story

Re: Nothing feels real

@creative_writer you have such an insight within yourself which is great to have.

You are able to look back and notice how unwell you were and are going about changing it. That takes a lot of strength and courage. Rewriting our story to damm hard work. As a suffer of cptsd too, I acknowledge how much work needs to go into ourselves.

You are on the right track. Yes you will have your ups and downs, but the most important thing is that you are moving forward. You should be so proud of yourself for how far you have come.

Re: Nothing feels real

@Snowie, I think I needed to achieve a bit of stability before starting the re-writing process. It’s very hard to re-write when actively suicidal. It takes a lot of work, but I am sure we can both get there. It feels a bit like the dual process model. Not sure if you’ve heard it it. I know the dual process model is for grief, but trauma brings a sense a loss. It’s basically when you oscillate between loss orientated and restoration orientated.

I have felt like I’ve lost parts of myself. I do try to remind myself, even though I’ve lost a lot, I’ve also gained

Re: Nothing feels real

Hi @creative_writer

Sorry about last night, fell asleep.

I feel like I have lost parts of myself too. It is sometimes hard to see our gains when we focus so much more on our losses. I'm glad you are able to remind yourself that you have achieved things within your journey.

I hope today goes well for you.

@Snowie, it’s all good. I hope you were able to rest up and I hope today has been going well for you too💖.

I’m feeling edgy right now, feeling irritation under my skin, not even sure why my emotions are being so weird right now

Re: Nothing feels real

@creative_writer can you do something for yourself tonight. Perhaps some self care?

Re: Nothing feels real

@Snowie, I’ll be having dinner. I feel something on my chest and I feel a migraine

Sorry to hear that @creative_writer
