Bipolar depression
I have bipolar disorder 1. Currently I am experiencing depression. I am totally immobilised and can’t get motivated. Can’t take anti-depressants because they cause mania. Any suggestions?

@creative_writer Glad to hear you are better and also that you like research. I liked research too when I was a student and the early days of my career as an academic, but it got harder later in my academic career - don’t know why.

@creative_writer I have been a heavy smoker. I know it’s bad but find it so very hard to stop. Over the worst of the morning now.

@bluegum Glad to hear you can run. I can’t and walk slowly and don’t go far really. But it is nice to get out for a little while. Glad you like research. Oh you studied psychology how was that? I have now stopped smoking for 18 1/2 hours. Getting ready for my morning walk soon. Glad to hear the messages lifted your mood.

@GezzaP I hope you enjoy your morning walk.
I live in a fairly urban environment (I’m a nature lover) and so it made me happy to hear of your beach walk, slow and short
I enjoyed learning about psychology, and still do - statistics not so much. I would have liked very much to have worked helping people in this way.

@bluegum I have had 2 morning walks now. I bought a new stove. It is very hard to ignite. I hope I will get used to because right now I get annoyed with it.
Glad you enjoyed psychology. Everyone I knew complained about doing statistics. I did a bit if it in demography. Pity you didn’t get to use it. Maybe you still can but you probably have to do more study. I wish you well.

Hi @creative_writer and @bluegum . I had a lapse in my stop smoking effort today. Went to a winery for lunch with my sister and a friend. My sister smokes she refused to give me a smoke but I weakened and bought a small packet when I got home. I will try to stop again when I run out of smokes.
it’s good you have both studied psychology. You should discuss your studies with each other.
Stay well both of you.
