Something’s not right

TW

  • Hello, everyone. On my phone, 4th attempt to post. Times have been tough lately. Lives are improving, relationships growing, homes being bought etc, but not for me. I put on my happy face and watch as everyone watches me, waiting. I couldn't stand being used and abused and disrespected anymore so I ODd. I told you someone would ring or knock when they shouldn't and my dear neighbour did. I left a note on my door to ring the police from 3 years ago asI didn't want to decay for months before being found. She was upset so I answered and so here I am in a different prison. I'm told it was serious, but apparently not serious enough.lm so damned unhappy. What is the point of my life? I've looked everywhere and tried everything.

Re: TW

Just watching things take shape here, @MissA. Each day is different, and there have already been too many. Too many people have inappropriate power in this world. 😏

Re: TW

I was only (half) joking @chibam, although Bob Brown and the Aboriginal Embassy didn't do too badly with their protests.

It seems dirty deeds are afoot always and everywhere.

As for the report, isn't it amazing how much time, money and lives are wasted making it look like they are making a difference?

Re: TW

@chibam maybe right about the protest situation in our dear state ... hmmm.... but I like your spirit. @Historylover Maybe we just have to organise and connect in other ways and bide our time. In the meantime do what you have to do to get through this challenge. I have had many similar conversations with my son.

Did you know ... the vic gov website ... now advertises itself ...as compassionate and against chemical restraint. Hmmm. Goodo! I am not suggesting you aggravate your circumstances in any way. Be practical. Be canny. Seems like you were not on meds, so your system will be going through a lot, but dont lose hope.

Yes a simply genuine friendly visit once per week may have made the world of difference and broken the sense of isolation. I do not know why it is so hard to find people for that. If you tow the line... they will let you go quickly ... cos someone else is desperate for their expertise ... hmmm.

Has anyone seen Witt-doering?

Re: TW

I'd been going to ask you, @Appleblossom, what you will do when you are ' too old' for NDIS. Because I'm too old for it and too young and fit for home care - or whatever it's called. If there's a crack, I'll fall through it. What I suggested re the cuppa drop in and phone call would help so many to maintain their independence.

When I tell people I don't take medication '

at my age', they are astounded. Everyone is drugged here. It's criminal and habitual.

Re: TW

I thought I was older than you, but maybe not. I will cope, things are more settled at home with family. NDIS has only been relatively recent. @Historylover 3 years. I am changing the way I use it. At first, I was told cleaner gardener, OT, physio, support workers. I was easily lead and it was not all satisfactory, including some abusive. I let go of OT after a year (too expensive and limited value), tho she helped me get physio which was the REAL life saver for me. Not cleaner or gardener for over a year. I was feeling pushed to having cleaning more often than I needed or wanted so let it go. It can get very invasive. People being judgy and bossy in your home. Hmmm. In some ways it is a machine. I would never had those services without NDIS and so it is appreciated, but I am not 6 years old in an orphanage anymore, so tho used to rolling with the punches, I do not have to put up with it. Also a full and rich CV, so know how to handle things and need to have higher expectations of others, not only for me but for family. So learning to hold others accountable.

Maybe a positive outcome of this hospitalisation for you, will be to set up appropriate supports for you on discharge.

Hi @Historylover .🙂

Are things going any better today?

Re: TW

Hi again @Historylover . 🙂

I'm not sure whether you just missed my last message, or if I've said or done something that's offended/upset you. If it's the latter, then I'm truly sorry.

I won't push.

I just hope you are doing well now, and that the future's looking brighter for you.

I wish you only the very best. 🙂🤗

Re: TW

Which last message, @chibam? You know I always reply. I'll see if I can find it. I'm not getting notifications. On this thread?

Things aren't good, @chibam. They have me where they want me, know the ropes, have the 'qualifications' and the numbers, and are playing hardball. I just wish I could keep my mouth shut. We're trained to blab and it's a hard habit to break.

Re: TW

It was the last message in this thread before the one I just posted, @Historylover . Just a quick check-in I posted a couple days ago.

Sorry to hear how bad things are. Did that advocacy organization get in contact with you?

I wish there was something more I could do for you, but I can't think of anything else that I haven't already suggested.🙁

Re: TW

I'm sorry that your message hadn't shown up in my inbox, @Appleblossom, nor @chibam's. It's been happening for a while.

I'm 72, so @Shaz51, you once asked and I said I couldn't say. So there you are. 72 years of...

No, @Appleblossom, they have me where they want me. I know the outcome. They know the ropes. I thought I knew hell. It was just a 'warm up' so to speak.

They are out to break me.
