Dealing with heartbreak

Dealing with heartbreak

It has been a year since I lost a person in my life who meant a lot to me.

Over the course of 2 years I developed strong feelings for someone, whom I felt I had a real emotional connection with. I was struggling with life, and they really cared for me and helped brighten my mood. I developed feelings for them, and wanted to prove I was worthy, and not a waste of time. I thought my feelings didn’t exist anymore, but their caring manner and a bright smile gave me a warm feeling, and I started to feel better and more confident in myself. Then they suddenly left me, and I question my feelings and if they were real. I have missed her every day for a year, and the thoughts that she didn’t feel for me really hurts. I have been in a dark place, and now realise I need to find myself. The fact that I now feel such pain is really hard to deal with though and I can’t get over it.

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

I know you miss her and I know you are doing your best to be your best @Rockdog - you both deserve the best.

I hope you've had a good day. Hope work is okay. Are you looking around in terms of work?

Hi @tyme

Work needs to change, but I am stuck with what to do. I am thinking of studying my law again, but because of my dramas my enrolment has expired. Now I need permission from the Board and the Dean of the University. They said they would help get me through, now that is a drama. I really don’t know what to do. Yeah I miss her so much. It will work out though right? 😊

Hope you are going well. What have you been up to? How was your holiday?

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

Just keep at it @Rockdog

After your law degree, what can you do with the qualification?

Also, my holiday was really good. Besides me needing a break from the noise of kids, it was great being in touch with Country 🙂

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

Hi @tyme

Glad you had a good holiday, and break from the kids lol.
I have my degree, this is extra to be admitted to the Supreme Court. From there I can practice, but only under supervision for 2 years. And who would hire me. But I would look smarter lol.

I honestly don’t even know if I open that box up again. When I get more positive I feel like it, and that it would make me feel better about myself and more worthy of her. Then I think I should go down another path, or just do something less stressful. It will happen though won’t it? 😊

Yes @Rockdog . Are you ready for it?

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

Hi @tyme

I really am, but there are still some things to work on, so maybe not fully ready. I don’t really know who I am or what I want. At this stage I guess I really don’t feel worthy. But when I think of her I get a real sense of peace and warmth. Then it disappears because I get anxious I will never meet her again. That is why your reassurance means so much. Hope you had a good weekend.😊

Hi @tyme

I went for a walk this morning and there was a white feather on the path.

It was off to the side though, not right in front of me, but still there 🙂

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

Nice! @Rockdog You need to take a photo of that feather and have it on your phone background. It's important.

I can't say you see many feathers lying around. That's your special sign 🙂

Good on you. Hope you are okay.

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

Really? I see them all the time now. I did take a photo. I kept the special one that was right in the middle of path at the time I walked by. It is on my kitchen window. I see feathers all the time, but not her anywhere. It has been 2 years, she could be engaged or married now or anything. The anxiety gets to me about what she is doing. I know focus on me but I can’t help it. I am taking 2 weeks off work for mental stress but at the end of it all I still don’t know where I’m going. Maybe that is why we haven’t met. Hope you are going well? What are you up to?

Re: Dealing with heartbreak

Hi @tyme

Hope you are well. I got let go from my job this week. While I don’t know what to do, or how I will make it. I think maybe it is part of the plan. I just can’t figure out how or why. I can’t stop thinking about her and missing her and wondering why things happened like they did. It is so weird though because my job was making me sick.
