Hello my lovely forum friends one and all!

Hello my lovely forum friends one and all!

The good news is that my depression is finally showing positive signs of improvement. Today marks day 3 of no major depressive episodes.

I hope you have all been well also!

@PositivePossum6 Good Morning!

I hope things are still getting better for you 🙂 Do you mind if I ask if you have implemented any changes that have contributed to things getting better? (Sorry if you have posted this somewhere else!)

Blessings x

Good morning @MissA

How are you going with your anxiety of late?

I'm still waking in a panic, but it settles to a manageable level after an hour or two. I think it's the benzo medicine...

Did you have a positive weekend?

Re: Hello my lovely forum friends one and all!

Hey!

Great question. So I think it is a combination of things that has helped me out a lot: I have been going to the gym and exercising once a week with my support worker. My support worker has been an excellent help helping me access my gym (It’s not that easy for me to access my gym without her support getting there). The anti-depressant is also helping a bit. But the other thing that has been helping me a lot is just doing things and not sitting around at home doing nothing. What I mean by doing things is doing the housework, doing my dishes, vacuuming the house, doing the washing, wiping down the benches, dusting, watering my plants etc.

I also try to get into nature as much as I can. I live near the beach and a very large ocean, so that is how I get into nature. I know that there is very good scientific evidence that getting into nature, exercising, and doing things is very good for people who have major depression.

Hey @Kyle1 😊

I had a very social weekend, which for me often means dealing with people, desperately trying to hide my anxiety. But this weekend was great - family, friends, church, friends... and I felt almost no anxiety at all. It always seems to be bubbling away in the background, but since my alcohol detox in August I think my medications are working better as they are not affected by alcohol. Plus I am making a real effort to gain my fitness back and challenging myself to new goals every few days.

I'm sad to hear you are still waking in a panic, that sucks. I have been waking up from unsettling dreams a lot but once I realise where I am then I am ok. Are you waking from nightmares or from the physical sensation of panic (awful!)? How was your weekend?

Re: Hello my lovely forum friends one and all!

yeah, I wake from either/or - on any given day.

My weekend was dodgy. I just watched a clip of a frog bounding forward onto an escalator, only to be shuttled back to the beginning ramp, over and again...

That pretty much sums up my weekend.!

I am truly heart glad that you were anxiety free this weekend. @MissA

i've had times like that, and though I'm not typically a socialite, I have enjoyed being at home in myself while in good company. It's lovely when it happens that way🙏
