How did you go with your assignment @Faith-and-Hope? Did you manage some sleep?

Re: Far and Away

I only got a little more done on it @Zoe7 , but it was good in that the idea I have are translating into the work really well, and it’s a sort of work-out-how-to-do-it-as-you-go sort of thing. And it’s started going where it’s going 👍.

D3 needed me to come home to support her with something that we are heading west for in another month, so that curtailed my assignment, but I have the weekend for it now, and visual diary work starting to pile up, which is a good thing for my headspace at the moment.

The rest of the furniture got brought back from the art space yesterday, and some more out of storage to make way for other stuff mr. wants to bring across from the west. It was good and it was sad. Good in that I now have a desk in my room. Sad that it was mr. moving more of his stuff out that made way for the desk. S2’s stuff has now gone to the art space to be with him, and mr. is settling more in his old room. Along with our home being sold, it’s more permanency settling in around our circumstances. It is both settling some of the tension and distress, and raising new tension and distress, but it is what it was going to be by taking this road, and it has proved to be the far gentler option.

Enougb of that. I did get more sleep last night @Zoe7 , despite waking every hour towards morning, but I was exhausted enough to fall back asleep again and again. So I think it added up to quite a lot.

Heading into a hair taming-and-reclaiming appointment now. Wishing you all the energy you need for the fence palings.

Hello to anyone else here ....

Re: Far and Away

It is good that your assignment is heading in the right direction @Faith-and-Hope That makes it easier to work on and get done - you can see how it is going to turn out and work towards that 👍 Visual diary work will keep you busy too so a lot to focus on this weekend.

The furniture merry go round is another step in moving forward but I can see how it is both steps in the right direction and sad at the same time. It will be good for you to have a more permanent place you can call home again but it is also leaving things behind for you - not easy Hon but hopefully a little more settling for you all as well.

I am glad you got some sleep across the night - even if it was in bits and pieces it all adds up. I had a late night but was up early ...so fed the fur babies and have been dozing on and off on couch island all morning. I have little energy still but need to find some to get out and get moving on these fence palings. It is great that I have so many to work with but not gret that I need to unpack them all and pull out all the nails. I think I will move them all to the garage (have room on the shelves) and then can work on them across the week with them being out of the rin. There is not much room in there but it is workable.

That seems like my best option today as I am feeling quite achy and have a mild headache ...most likely this week catching up with me. Taken pain meds so hoping that helps and I can then find the energy to get up and going too.

Hope your hair taming and re-claiming appointment is going well and you are getting it back to what you would like it to be. Toby needs a haircut too but might just trim around his eyes this weekend and wait to Thursday to do the rest, Poor little mite looks like a mop at the moment but it doesn't seem to bother him - but he surely can't see properly with so much hair over his eyes

Re: Far and Away

Hair respectable for a couple of weeks again now @Zoe7 ✅

How is Toby’s looking ?

Re: Far and Away

Great that your hair is respectable for another couple of weeks

Toby is still looking like a shaggy mop @Faith-and-Hope - will leave his hair cut until this evening or even tomorrow - but I have been to the shop to get baby food and a few other things so won't need to go out again this weekend. Also made a start on the washing - it is a lovely day outside so it should get dry today. Still have towels to go but they can hang on the clothes, horse if need be.

Cat has just gone back outside - she has been laying in the sun all morning until I brought her in to go out myself. She looked like a little statue with the sun making her coat look vibrant this morning ...would have been a great photo but as soon as I went out she would have moved so didn't bother.

Going to do a little housework and sorting of school stuff then watch the footy. Fence palings will have to wait until ater the game - might give me a bit more incentive to get them moved as it begins to get darker. I seem to have more energy later in the day - most likely because morning meds are wearing off!

Re: Far and Away

It’s a lovely day here today @Zoe7 . I miss hanging out clothes, and the smell of sunlight in them.

I hand wash my clothes here and hang them in the shower stall to dry ..... but that has to be timed. I have to hang them first after on of mr.’s post-gym showers for the day, when they are still sopping wet, then they have stopped dripping by his next post-gym shower for the day, when he takes them out and hangs them on a towel hook, then I go back in and hang them back in the shower afterwards. They are generally dry in 24 hours, but it’s all part of the daily circus around here. Our new 🤞 place will have an extra bathroom in it so we will have one each, along with our own bedroom and wardrobe spaces, so mine will still be a bathroom-laundry without all the moving of drying clothes about the room.

The smaller place in the west has an outside corner that I can drape clothes in to dry in fresh air at least, but still no sunshine. It’s small things like that that we can take for granted. I miss the smell of earth and garden too 😔. I will have to go to a park and turn some soil over with a stick or something.

It is the little things like that that we often take for granted @Faith-and-Hope You have to take up so much time and energy to simply do the washing It is good you will have your own bathroom and bedroom in the new place but along with that is also the sadness around you living even more separately

I used to have an outside line I constructed on the balcony of my flat so it is nice to have a backyard that is all my own. It is small but that is all I need. I wish I could share it with you Hon ...I would love to see you sitting out there with Cat soaking in the sun together
