A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

Yes @Zoe7 . I am putting errands and appointments on my now-two free days, and my Mr. has opted / offered to take D2 into his care most of the week too .... not too sure why at this stage, but I suspect it is a mixture of things.

He intends to travel interstate less now that he has had another sibling return to the west, so mil has other family members available to her, so he won’t be going every week.

Time with the carer is costing us financially, so him being more available means less $ outlay.

I think he is actually getting to know and appreciate D2 more, and spending more time together is a learning curve in communication and empathy for both of them .... also working out each other’s OCD tendencies and how to either stretch or accommodate these, and in what sort of balance.

Maybe he is becoming more conscious of the stressors I have been under .....

Maybe having her with him is life-assistance for him as much as her .....

Probably all of the above and more.

Re: Far and Away

So many postiives I see there @Faith-and-Hope - especially the new relationship being built between Mr. and D2 - that is certainly a relief for you to have more time to yourself and will undoubtedly help with studies as well. 😁 Mr. having less time (and influence) with his mother may be a good thing as well - fingers crossed

I will have Thursdays off this term instead of Wednesdays too. Thursday was the normal teacher's day off so there is an existing teacher that takes them on that day who is locked in for the year. I am okay with the change of day but has meant I need to change appointments around to after school on other days now. It is going to make Tuesdays and Wednesdays very long as I have some 4.30 and a few 3.30 appointments but I will need to work around that as best I can. I suspect most of my planning will be done on Sundays when I am a little less tired and nightimes will be marking and organising. Hopefully once I get back into the swing of things it will work out.

Re: Far and Away

Sounds like things are settling into some order for you too @Zoe7 .

Time for me to get up and go again @Former-Member . I hope you are doona-snuggling with Holly now and resting up ..... it’s important. I hope your hubby behaves and gives you a little space today.

@Zoe7 @Former-Member I am picking up some small prints I made to enter into an art competition .... working these things out as I go along. I thought it might interest you both.

Re: Far and Away

Certainly does interest me @Faith-and-Hope Goodluck with the competition 🎨😍

Going to head off for a while and do a couple of things myself before it starts getting dark here. Looks like the rain is on it's way again so need to get a couple of things done outside before it arrives.

Love to you both @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Faith-and-Hope 💕 I had a long time under my doona and not wanting to come out. But I need to work on the order of service for Mums funeral. So I got up and have been working on it now for a while. In the process of selecting suitable music right now. I have listened to so many songs on utube as I work out which is best and most appropriate. And every time I play one, they hit a chord and bring on another flood of tears. Damn! I really miss my Mum. I miss not being able to talk to her every day, twice a day. I have been talking to my Dad every day. He is starting to accept now, its hard for him. Mum has been his carer for many years. Physically he is very frail, more so since his stroke last October. Mentally he is still quite with it. So its going to mean some serious discussions in weeks to come as to what he would like to do now.

I have been talking to my sister who remains overseas, trying to keep her involved in organisations as much as possible. But honestly, her suggestions for funeral music are totally inappropriate. How do I keep telling her no? I think I will just narrow my search down to half a dozen songs and ask her to choose her preferred ones. My brother has already told me his choice, which are very lovely and highly appropriate.

Okay ... back to it I guess. Though I'd rather just run and hide.

Re: Far and Away

It is not an easy thing to be doing and mostly all on your own @Former-Member I have no doubt whatever you choose will be lovely and something your Mum would love.

I am glad you are talking to your Dad everday - you both need that outlet and can support each other. Are you talking each day with your brother as well? So much for you to need to think about and get organised and I am sure it is all in exactly the right hands. I know that does not make it easier but you are one strong lady Hon and you have our support when you need it 💜💙💚🧡💛

Hi @Shaz51

@Faith-and-Hope I have Cat's results and as the vet said 'they are surprisingly good'. There is a higher level of protein than is normal and could account for the weight loss as that affects their kidneys. We have 2 ways we can go from here - one is to take her back in and try to get a blood pressure reading and another urine sample but given that they had to sedate her last time she is not really a fan of being at the vet - so the second course of action is to get special crystals to collect urine and start her on a kidney friendly diet. I would rather option one to cover all bases and will probably opt for that to see how she goes - even then we may still need to go for option 2. Whatever option it is going to be more money with meds and'or the special diet.

Hello @Zoe7 , my mum is in hospital afer having a skin cancer removed from the calf of her leg , they don`t want her to put any pressure on the leg until it heals , she would like to be at home but they think she id better off to stay at hospital @Faith-and-Hope , @Former-Member , @Snowie

Re: Far and Away

It sounds like the best place for her at the moment then @Shaz51 - at least until it heals a little. Hope she will be home soon
