A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

S2 is still not on board, which is a bit of a worry, but he will also be aware that mr. is on his way back, so there will either be a last minute up-and-go, or not ..... and then fireworks .....

Got my head in the sand with that as much as S2 has methinks .....

Re: Far and Away

Ultimately it has to be up to S2 to make those decisions for himself and then to either face the baccklash from Mr or not as it unfolds @Faith-and-Hope It was his decision to want to go overseas knowing that it would be such a small turnaround to going back to uni and those are the types of decisions that S2 has to face and be able to live with. He is not a child anymore and the consequences need to be his to own. I know there are many factors included here for S2 - the lack of empathy from Mr and his controlling behaviour being amonst them - but S2 knows the score here also and has to be able to take that all into consideration too. I may seem a bit hard on him but you have all had to move across the country for this to try to work for him and part of that responsibility he needs to shoulder and work with. I can fully appreciate you both have your head in the sand here Hon but it is only S2 that can takes his head out and move forward - even if it is in really baby steps.

Re: Far and Away

It has to be those baby steps @Zoe7 @cod he has the mi battles going on inside, so it’s the reaching for CBT and DBT skills and applying them too that are all a part of this, and his physical environment now being trashed with the backwash from our living space was unexpected for him, and pretty overwhelming too ..... but that is exactly why I am standing back ..... my head in the sand is because I need to be able to manage how the fallout affects me too, but still be there for him in a relationship capacity.

He didn’t want to have to move across the country, and is aware of what it has cost his older sibs too, so a sense of guilt about it is part of the struggles, but nobody asks for mi issues in their family ...... there is no blame .... but self-blame is very big in this landscape, which means it is there, as a constant debilitating voice over every decision and every outcome. It’s kearning to turn off that voice that is probably the biggest hurdle of all, and it’s likely what is driving mr. to his extremes ..... trying to outrun it ..... trying to out-perfect it ....

Re: Far and Away

It is indeed a very complicated situation @Faith-and-Hope and I do know how striving for some normalcy in amongst the chaos is difficult. There are many changes happening for you all and trying to focus on that sense of normalcy in amongst that all is a challenge. Your relationship with your kids is to be admired though Hon - there is no doubt that you are doing everything you can to provide some stability for your kids in amongst all the chaos ..and certainly at your own detriment often. It is not easy for any of you

Still feeling like a slug @Zoe7 .... I might find a couch in the library and just rest with this time .... I think I will sleep if I close my eyes.

Good morning @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope @eth @Shaz51 @outlander

Just popped in for some company. Feeling really down today. My Mums home care nurse called an ambulance this morning to take Mum to hospital. I rang the hospital where they are admitting her to hospital, but the ED Doctor said she wanted to warn me that she is very very unwell. Though she is on oxygen now and is stable. They are running tests to see if there is anything they can treat her for. But basically she will likely be treated as a palliative care patient. I guess I need to get down there again for another visit. Do I wait, do I go now? I have a busy week this coming week, and lots to cancel or reschedule if I go now. Argh ..... sh** ! 😢 🌹

Hi @Former-Member I'm here with you. Sorry to hear about your Mum. A huge decision for you about whether or not to go now. Sitting with you while you contemplate.

@Former-Member

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. My suggestion would be to go when you can, but, i'm not pushing you to do anything. Just from my own experience last year. Thinking of you.
