Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Re: Far and Away

Hi @Faith-and-Hope It sounds like your BD is doing well .. very pleased.

Thanks @Zoe7 . It sounds like a really big deal this awards night and the selection panel you were a part of. You clearly underestimate your importance. Incidentally, I actually know one of the recipients of the jointly won award. Its a small world. I only put two and two together this morning when he emailed me and said he'd received an award along with some other fellow. Interestingly, he also said the health minister was particularly kind and thoughtful. I might add that he was greatly appreciative of receiving such an award for his work in suicide prevention.

Yeah all going okay here in the city. So many teams of specialists visiting hubby all day long. Many tests done, but many more still to come. Nobody knows whats wrong yet, but it seems that they all have a different theory.

What was expected to be a 3 day stay is looking like being extended. 😕

I was thinking this hospitalisation would be relatively easy. Lasy year hubby was so ill. I had to be there for every meal and every medication time, because he couldnt feed himself and wouldnt eat or take meds from anyone else but me. I guess I just didnt realise how dependent he has become on me now. He wont take any meds now, without I check and assure him that its all okay. And he is insisting I be there for all dr visits and procedures, he said in case he forgets something. Its a training hospital, and he is becoming a test case, a training tool. A dr came around tonight and asked if he would agree to being a test case in a practical examunation for the latest batch of neurology graduates. They are interested in him because he has such a complex history and combination of diagnoses. Hubby said I would have to be there to help him, but otherwise agreed. Hubby is just very needy, and wants to go home. I just want him fixed.

So slow on my little phone, so please forgive me for including a few others here. Cant type all this again on my carers thread, and dont know how to copy and paste either. So ... @Former-Member @Former-Member @Determined @outlander @Shaz51 @BryanaCamp @Bunniekins please see my update above.

Re: Far and Away

Oh what a small world it is @Former-Member That also makes me a little nervous as I would know that recipient too. Hopefully anonymity is kept there though. He thoroughly deserved the award. Despite the MInister saying a lot it is yet to be put into practice - it is not enough to promise money for services but it needs to be spent in the right areas ...and not in administration but actually put into services that help those directly. We can only hope that happens.

It must be so diffcult for you still to have to be there so much for hubby still but at least that way you will know what is going on. I hope they have some answers for you both soon and you can also get a little bit of rest in for yourself. Taing care of you is just as important - hubby is where he needs to be right now and being cared for so do not forget that you need some self-care as well. Hugs and hugs and hugs Hon
