Re: Far and Away

Life does go on @Faith-and-Hope and we have to leave things behind - and it can be hard.

I know you will have one of your children with you - I am glad the others are close by - all grown up by now -

And yes - you will have to grieve the man you thought your ex was - you certainly did the best with the situation - and that had to be hard yards.

I realise I never knew my ex - he was silent - yes - we talked about the kids and current events of all sorts - he never talked about himself - when it came to home maintenance, we would be totally stuck on what we were doing or not -

After years of frustration, I feel I understand now that there was a huge space between us - something I could not bridge - I have accepted it - this took a long time and a lot of thought.

I know you battled - I know you did it for him and the kids - we can't win them all - we can only do our best - and somethings never work.

I hope your Easter Day is the best it can be and great with the university - I found my mature age degree to be among the best things I did -

@TAB

Hi Tabby Cat

Great news about getting your first house - at age 60 no less - you are still young mate - I have 20 years on you - and my life has its ups and down - I am still standing.

Your health has been checked - I know that - what's this about exercise and diet. Has some medic read you the riot act about a healthier lifestyle? If so - that can't be fun - if it's your choice - um - perhaps still not fun. Oh dear - what to say - what to say, I know - all the best with that.

Happy Easter today - I hope you have eggs to enjoy - and all the best with your house - that's interesting -

Re: Far and Away

Yes they are tropical fish @Owlunar I have one kid who feeds them and another who tests the water ph and checks the temperature - so we keep on top of it everyday. It is great for the kids to know what is needed to keep the water the right temperature and ph level. Our cat fish has more than doubled in size - most likely from eating all the other fish lol It would be about 5cm long now but that is fully grown so it won't get any bigger (maybe fatter if I keep giving it other fish to eat hahaha)

My first cat used to drink out of glasses as well. She was a pretty special cat - was so snuggly with me but would hide from anyone else. Cat was a bit like that too but would let other people pat her if she was in her room where she felt safest. Clover started out as a social cat (when she was a kitten) but now would rather hide as well. Toby on the other hand wants ALL the attention he can get from anyone. He does need to know I am close by though.

@Former-Member Toby ate a small easter egg that I had left in a back of lemons on Thursday. I found the wrapper spread all over the kitchen and dining room when I got home. No trip to the vet needed though as he seemed to have also vomited most of it up in the spare room. Not at all what I needed when I got home but I would rather have had to clean that up than to have to take him in to the vet later where they would have induced vomiting anyway. You would think I would learn but I completely forgot about it in amongst all the things I was bringing home for the holidays.

Re: Far and Away

So pleased to hear @Zoe7 that Toby is ok. Once a friend's dog I was staying with ate 3kg of chocolate ( she had been making chocolates) and the dog broke into the tub overnight and ate nearly all of it. With his superior sense of smell he sourced it. Unfortunately he visited the vet, but didn't make it 😔.

Re: Far and Away

Very sad @Former-Member I need to be more conscious of how much Toby can get into when he really wants to.

Re: Far and Away

Some rest today @Snowie Out early to do some shopping then some more work on my treehouse and the rest of the afternoon on the couch with Tobes. It is cold - and I am feeling it so will stay snuggled up with Tobes for the rest of today and think I will be in bed early.

Glad you have been able to get some rest @Zoe7

It is very cold here too, very good for snuggles on the couch.

Sleep well hon 💜

Re: Far and Away

Not sure what the rest of the week is going to be like @Snowie but winter is definitely on it's way. Watching the NRL, have fed the fur babies and snuggled under the doona again. I bet Izzy is loving the snuggles.
