A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

Hi @Zoe7 it seems I am thanking you again for your, kindness, encouragement and support.

I love to hear of your experience it makes me feel like I am not the only one experiencing these things and encourages me that I can get through it.

Well done in smashing that concrete and cuddles to Clover and Toby.

A big pat on the back and cuddle to you as well - you're awesome 💕💜💕

Re: Far and Away

Lying down is best @Snowie The degeneration/arthritis/nerve damage is in my lower back. It can often make my legs wobbly and sitting is definitely the worst. Sometimes I can move through it and other times I cannot. Today is one of those days when my legs are okay so I can move through it. There have been times at work I have had to lay down - the kids love that because they all pile on top LOL - but only when the pain has passed ...they are very kind. 😛

@Former-Member We are here to help each other Hon 💖 You will get through this - just a difficult period at present. Physical sickness can throw us completely off track and it often takes time to come back to a base line again ...that may be weeks or months but it takes as long as it takes. I have found not putting a time frame on things or any extra pressure helps. Just do what you can when you can and slowly build up that strength again. You got this 👍

Toby and Clover fed (and patted), all the concrete picked up and the area cleaned ready for the next step. That will take a bit longer as I have to cut some slits in the concrete first before I can break it up - it is too thick to just crack with the sledgehammer. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so I will likely pull up some more bricks (that are the current paving) and do some work in the garage. I have a dentist appointment on Wednesday (in the middle of the day) so that will likely be the day I rest.

Re: Far and Away

Sounds like you have a few busy days ahead of you @Zoe7

I have the dentist too on Wednesday!!

I am glad you were able to get through today hon. It sounds like your kids love to jump on you!! My students wouldn't touch me at all, but I guess thats what happens when you teach teenagers!!

Re: Far and Away

It is very different between high school and early childhood @Snowie The preps and 1/2s are still so little and we do a lot of play based learning still. My class is also super switched on (mainly lol) so you need to balance extending them with them still having fun. We do a lot of crafty/art things, hands on learning and developing their ideas both in writing and visually - so it is a real mix. I let them guide me mostly - we go off on so many tangents so I only usually plan for three days and adjust/change it as we go.

Re: Far and Away

That sounds so nice @Zoe7

I taught primary school for awhile but was always suited to more high school students.

They are lucky to have you as a teacher hon. It sounds like such an enjoyable class to teach. I am super happy that you love them as much as you do!

Re: Far and Away

I really do @Snowie I have had some lovely classes in the past but this one is a bit special. I am really going to miss them when the year is over. 😥

I started off teaching College and then moved to High School for a while but really found my place at primary school level. I have also been a support teacher and taught alternative programs - both of which were very rewarding ...but nothing like the younger kids I have now. I always said I would not go any lower than a 3/4 but here I am on a 1/2 and loving it. I absolutely could not do prep or kinder though - they are tiring lol

Do you think you will ever get back into a school Hon? (I know that is a big question that you probably could not even begin to answer right now so no need to answer if you do not want to).

Re: Far and Away

I am so glad you are enjoying them @Zoe7 The job is so much better and easier when you love what you are doing.

I have thought about going back to work. It is something that I want to do, I am just not sure mentally if I am ready. I have thought about just doing some relief teaching near where I live. However I won't go back to where I was working. Too many bad memories there.

Re: Far and Away

That would be a great introduction back to work Hon. I totally understand you not wanting to go back to where you worked - I was the same. I could never had gone back with all the shite that I endured there and it was nowhere near the trauma you have had to deal with @Snowie Just a day here and there - when you feel okay to do it may give you a little confidence to do more later. It is such a hard job at the best of times so take it as slowly as you need.

Re: Far and Away

I am thinking some teaching here or there would be a good compromise @Zoe7 I know plenty of schools where I could get work. Schools are just crying out for help and for relief teachers around our area at the moment.

I am going to head to bed early tonight. It feels weird going to bed when it is still light outside!! Day light savings started here yesterday.

It has been really nice talking to you. I hope you get some rest tonight and your pain levels are a little better tomorrow. Take care hon xoxo 💌💌
