Hello @Faith-and-Hope . I hope you are well and enjoying the sunshine. Beautiful up my part of Victoria.
I am over Covid and lockdowns and people doing the wrong things.
Had to have Covid test yesterday. Wasnt as bad as I had imagined it at all. Negative result. But they confirmed I have tonsilitis. On antibiotics now. Hopefully that will get rid of the bug and stop my larangitis.
I am doing really well. My 2 dogs are good. Although my 13 year old girl is almost completely blind and deaf and in early stages of dementia. But she still gets around and is very happy and has no pain.
My son is at Uni in Melbourne. Living on campus, but all study is online due to lockdown. I worry about him, as there is so much Covid in Melbourne. But he did get his first vaccine yesterday and will get his 2nd shot in 8 weeks. He just has to keep as safe as possible.
I worry more for him mental health though. The only people he sees occassionally are other students living on Campus. All country kids. They try and get together once a week for a bbq dinner or something, and also for walks around the neighbourhood. But they cant do their dinners at the moment due to lockdown. And they can only walk/exercise with one person.
So first year away from home, stuck in his room doing online study instead of face to face. Not seeing friends. Can't come home for a visit. Plus with me and my dad having history of Depression. It is a lot for a young person.
But I have told him to contact the student ? Support people at Uni, especially if he struggles with the lonliness and isolation. They will at least be able to provide him with some counselling. But also encourage him to have zoom parties and chats with other students online.
Anyway. He is really the only thing I worry about. And Im a mum so im allowed to worry. Lol
Talk to you soon.
