Far and Away

Forgot to answer you about lists @Zoe7 ..... I tend to make them when things go bonkers with to-do's coming at me from everywhere. A list anchors it all down, but like you, if the list is too big I take three things off it to a small note page, and then hide the bigger list .....

The whole list is the supermarket, and the note paper is my shopping trolley ..... lol .... I try to only 'buy' enough for now, then come back for more when that's done.

Does sound sucky with the other teacher doing an intro to your work ..... hmmmmm .... controlling ? Or does she think that that is an appropriate hand-over and is expecting you to do the same thing for her ?

She refers to our class always as 'her class' @Faith-and-Hope @Snowie and yes wants everything her way ...but I enjoy my Friday on class and just need to continue to work around her as best I can. When it comes down to it I will do whatever is best for the kids and no matter how she refers to the class or what she doesn't share with me - I can get annoyed and frustrated with all that but it is not something I can change so I generally let it go ...makes it harder but it is not in my control so it is what it is. Those 'above' know how frustrating it is and despite the Principal sending out guidelines for teachers for all shared classes she still does what she wants ..she already does not have a good relatinship with our team leader or Principal as I know they too get frustrated with her. I was really ooking forward to working with her this year but she does not seem to be able to work with anyone - her way or the highway

Sounds like she isn't a 'team' player @Zoe7 I have worked with teachers like that before and it is hard to deal with them. It sounds like you are very accomodating for her and try your best just to work with her. Hopefully with the comps closing it gets a little easier for you.

@Faith-and-Hope hiding the bigger list sounds like a great idea hon. I hope that helps you. I tend to only make lists for when I go down the street or else I always forget something, like I did today!!

Maybe only show her your basic planning @Zoe7, and then extend into the more interesting work with the kids in the classroom, because she has already launched the basics with them ..... that way you are gaining from her non-teamsmanship rather than being encumbered with it ?
