A challenge I would think 😕 Hope this is a time yo rekindle some first love maybe.
Any good churches to visit there? Did you go this morning? Love ancient architecture and history. Churches are great for it. Hugz xox

haha @Former-Member, you're funny 😉 love you're sense of humour 🙂
@Shaz51, glad one acknowledged you on mothers day, I'm sure you care about them like a mum. The biological one sounds very inconsistant and moody (like my mum haha), that's hard on anyone let alone children and young adults. 'tis what it is! Just be yaself 🌷💕

@Shaz51

That must be so hard for your step-children - esp the one that is close to his mother

And how wonderful your step-daughter gave you a Mothers Day card etc - that is such a loving gesture

I have gained the feeling here that these kids have not had an easy life - but that you have filled the spot as best you can as their step-mother - it can be done

Lots of hugs Shaz

Hi @Former-Member

My mother and I weren't close - she died a couple of years ago - and I don't seem to be grieving much - perhaps I did my grieving when she was still alive

How are you today?

Re: Far and Away

My mood is good thanks @Owlunar, have a headache though (3rd one this week). Sorry your mum was so difficult, and u don't mss her much. I think i have grieved a 'real' mum (caring) all my life, shes never been there for me emotionally and since her metz cancer diagnoses she's even more challenging. Even dad has said recently he mght move into a 'home' to get away from her having a go at him all the time. My S3 says she's entitled to lash out at the world re her cancer dx. but i disagree. I worry i may not have been a better mum myself, given my early conditioning. Don't think I'll miss mum much when she goes, actually glad she'll go first, give everyone a break. Oh, that's not nice to say I guess, well, 83 is pretty good, she still calls all the shots with everyone around her & that house of horrors - 'flowers in the attack' Don't want to talk about that anymore. But today here, the sun is out, its a glorious autumn day. I found a beautiful thick shiney quilt at op shop for $10 today (I can post a pic if you like), always feel good after a timely op shop find 🙂

Hi @Former-Member

The way we feel about our mothers is the way we feel - no need to be at all judgmental about that - I understand

I would like to see a pic of your new shiny quilt - that was a lucky purchase

But for now I am going to have to lie down for a while - my sinuses have been playing up and I feel a triffle giddy - but I will be back

It is a lovely day - and the sun is shining into my bedroom - great place to have a good read

very hard to look after ourselves when we are there for everyone else

you must have painted up a storm by now

Re: Far and Away

Oh dear @Former-Member .... 🤣

I'm laughing, but my house has flooded twice in the past, and we had roof leaks for years after dodgy extensions were added to the house ..... never enough to swim in .... lol .... but some rooms looked like a modern version of the Titanic wreckage .... our piano got ruined.

P.S. ..... this is NOT our house .... but it's sorta what our house looked like.

I prefer your version .... 😁
