Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Re: Just checking in.

I'd just like to say that sometimes life just sucks. @Appleblossom I read before some of what your going through and I felt angry and sad for you. You don't deserve it. @Kurra you don't deserve the walk through fire you are having. I don't want to talk about my stuff suffice to say one of my big ticket buttons was pushed today too and other stuff I have no idea how to deal with. I'm not sure what others are going through. I've only caught up reading less that 10 posts today but just need to rant that life sucks a lot sometimes. 😡😤😩

i held it together all day now imploding :bomb:

Hi @Former-Member, @Ocean, @Faith, @shaz, @peppi...
Yes Teej, some days totally suck! sometimes, weeks, months, even years, LIFE IS NOT FAIR!!! And bottom line for us, I think, is MI makes life's journey so much harder. I'm sure if I wasn't so chronically depressed, or forever on guard with PTSD, I'm sure the stress levels would be less and the coping more manageable.

So, we have a broken wing and can't fly so high, but were not alone. I live for the good days. Chin up Teej 🙂 xox

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Former-Member, @Former-Member

I was doing ok yesterday but then two things rocked me. One of them I'm kind of angry about because they should know me better by now, it was my care coordinator. The other is something one of my baby dragons has done that is really really not good. I just heard he is out of control.

And the other thing that shook me was that the mental health team needed some numbers from me......you know because all those numbers tell you sooo much about how a person is going. My numbers were not good despite the fact that I've come a way. Rated at extreme for depression and anxiety severe for stress but it was a bit of a shock to me. I didn't expect that. I also had to do a BPD questionnaire to get numbers for that. This one surprised me even more. She didn't add them up in front of me but I know it wasn't good either. So after coming a small way forward as a person I've not progressed as a number.

Anyway right now I'm very scared of Christmas and everything else but not for reasons others have, but for my failings as a mum and as a person.

@Former-Member The brightest part of my day yesterday was reading about the lamb you received. That was wonderful and put some magic back in Christmas for me. I really hope you enjoy it 🌲⭐️

Re: Just checking in.

Hi everyone 💕😙

Thought I'd join you, finally. It doesn't help isolating myself at such an emotionally stressful time.

I try really hard to make this time of the year an ok time. In some ways it's slightly better, due to not spending it with a dysfunctional, hurtful family, but then it creeps up on me that we have no family or friends to spend it with.

Hoping I can join in with you all.

Big hugs to everyone. 😙❤

Thanks for call out @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member
Sorry if I missed anyone's, hard to remember and keep up. xoxo
I haven't been able to keep up with how everyone is going. How is everyone today? 💕

Hi to @Zoe7. 💕
Nice to meet you and I look forward to getting to know you. Welcome. 😀

Re: Just checking in.

hello @Kurra

my heart goes out to you.

no words can express how you must be feeling.

I had to say goodbye to my 15 year old british shorthair cat who went from being 8kg to 4kg. He was throwing up some days, eating others, wobbling, and just wanting to be nursed. it broke my heart he was my soul animal, he was very vocal and even though i still have two cats who now have come into their own personalities since he has passed, i miss him so much, am crying now. He left us in january of this year. we buried him on the block of land under a tree, we are going to build a house there, once this property is sold. downsize.

so as i said to my husband, typical monty had to be the first one there.

relish those hugs and stories you share with him.

thinking of you xxx and hugs for you, your family and him xxx

Hi @Former-Member,

about to head out for last min food shopping grr. Hopefully it will be ok.

I hope your day goes well tomorrow. Enjoy your beautiful family. It's a day to celebrate the three of you. For me I'm doing the same just me and the three boys (eldest still overseas). I've been trying to rack my brain what I can do to make it special and bring out the boy's inner children. Short of toilet humour (which was a very big part of my boy's childhood 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:) I thought of water pistols but I think they'd roll their eyes, a slip and slide would be good but too expensive. I bought a bubble wand for me and hopefully they'll embrace it.

💜🤗

Re: Just checking in.

You are brave shopping today @Former-Member 😮💜

I went 6pm last night, it was reasonably quiet. 😊 If I need anything else, I'll wait until this evening.

Coming from a European background my family (ex family, lol) have Christmas dinner this evening. So I'm hoping to feel well enough to go somewhere later, see what happens. 😊 Need a distraction.

Amazing how it all affects sleep. 😮
I was awake until 4am a couple of nights ago 😨 Not much last night either. I think alot of others are finding it the same.

You mentioned a slip and slide, do you mean water slide? We used to buy really thick plastic from Bunnings. A big roll of it and I'd buy bubble bath soap a garden hose and that was our water slide. 😂 They had heaps of fun. Good on you for getting a bubble wand. 😀
There's some fun games to buy as well. Fun card games. I bought Twister, never too old for Twister. Do you remember that game?
We have Wii dancing ( too girly) for when I have energy. Used to have alot of fun with the Wii games. Anyway, come to think of it, there's alot of ways to have fun (when depression doesn't take over). 😀
You can still buy "whoopie cushions", you can buy one each for your boys from a discount store, lol. 😂

I hope shopping went ok. And I hope your day goes well today and tomorrow. I'll be on and off here. 😀😙

Hi @Former-Member 💕
Nice to meet you. Sorry to hear about your kitty cat. 😢 I'm a cat person. 😊😺
My girl cat went blind recently. She gets around ok and loves a pat.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @Former-Member.
We have just brought our girl home from the vet. She's having surgery on Thursday for the tumor.
We'll take her down to the beach a bit later. It's more dangerous shark-wise in the river than driving to the beach and swimming in the surf!
We'll deal with Thursday on Thursday and not before.
Take care 🎶 💕
