Just checking in.

Just checking in.

I thought I'd start a discussion where we can check in with members and use this space to keep in contact. It's a space to be able to say how you really feel and it's a space for the good, the bad and the ugly moments in our lives.

Hey @Teej. Just checking in to say I'm thinking of you. I read that you're going to get a bit of a time out/a break. Hoping that it feels and is good for you whenever it is. Big ❤

Re: Just checking in.

Hey @CheerBear . My respite time is not until the week after next. This week is going to be torturous for me. I got pretty much the last of the stuff out of the house yesterday. 5 hours there. I came home so utterly confused and messed up. My ex was totally charming and generous and kind. He was doing his best. Everyone around me tells me not to buy into it but honestly I’m so confused as to what is real. I don’t know if I’m being manipulated or not but I feel really sorry for him too. How does one know when they are being manipulated or that someone truly still cares for them. I felt like I had no integrity yesterday even though I tried so hard. This week he will be served court papers and I am so conflicted about it all. It will end our kind and generous connection I think. I have so much guilt being there yesterday getting everything out I wanted (still 90% kids stuff), knowing what was coming. My psych sessions and therapist and friend and sons have all towed the same line with me about this was the way I had to do it and it was fair and the best way to survive for me but I can’t find the feelings to match.

So there is my rave. Today I have lots of boxes and things to sort out.

Re: Just checking in.

🙁 that's such a tough place to be @Teej. I find it can be hard sometimes to work out what's charm and manipulation and what's genuine. It's extra hard when feelings and thinking don't seem to line up either, which tends to happen for me in big, stressful, feelings fuelled situations like you're working through.

As we've spoken about, I've been in a similar but not situation and so badly struggled my way through hearing everyone say one thing but feeling another myself. Sometimes it helps to have that reassurance from others but I think it can also add to the confusion and inside mess too. The upcoming papers would feel yuck to think about I imagine, especially if you've recently felt some kind of care from him.

Sorry it's sounding like it's jumbly right now. I get why it might be though. I hope your box sorting goes OK.

Re: Just checking in.

Thanks @CheerBear . I had to read your post again this morning.

Am now responding hours after with fried brain. So struggling to write much. I thought of you last night as I emptied out all the folders of minutes from sports committees, gov council, piles of school newsletters. It was a definitive end of an era looking back at my school parenting life. I felt quite disconnected to it too.

How are ypu travelling?

Morning ladies ..... 👋💕

It seems we are doing houses together @Teej . I am in the same place, emptying out school newsletters and. youth committee stuff - emails and paper. Things have changed rather dramatically here, and what was supposed to be a long goodbye and period of sorting out my former home has become a blitz ...... in fact from here it’s a dash, blitz, return, missing clssses to go, and a big confrontation time with what has been lost to me over there ...... ripping off a bandaid ..... and my head is right down in the sand over it at the moment. Not even trying to begin to think about how I will cope, just staying in the moment with today stuff.

D1 has been amazing. She knows just what this is for me and has down a lot, and I mean a lot, of pre-emotive work to help get us through this time, and she and the other kids will all be with me in this thing when it happens.

The time frame is not realistic. It won’t all happen the way mr. has planned for and thinks it will. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that, but enough will get done to give us the surge in a new direction over here that we desperately need, so it’s between a rock an a hard place .... I know you hear me with this ..... but it has to be done.

I am not a blitzer, and there is much about this that shouldn’t be blitzed, which is part of the heartache. I have been forced by circumstances to do what I stand against in order to achieve what we need next ..... so there is a lot of grrrr ..... and a lot of Mum memories in those boxes @CheerBear .....

Hugs to you both. And to @Zoe7 who I know is, or will be, here somewhere too.

There, I have said it ..... looked at it momentarily .... then it’s back to head-in-sand-land for now so I can get through the next couple of weeks.

Oh, and there is a home open happening here hoursbefore boarfing a plane to there ..... just for good measure 😔
