Hey @Silenus so good to see you here again. I've wondered what was happening for you many times since last we met. Lots of changes and challenges. Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mil and going through the grief process - it's very hard and unpredictable. Wonderful that your family has pulled together at this time. Sounds like you and your partner have been central to that - caring for both father and fil must be really challenging at times on top of running your business and working so far away half the time. Very happy to hear that your store is successful. And WOW to your record of remaining in your job for 2 years!!! I'm so pleased to hear you have managed to be so stable (with bipolar issues) for so long - that in itself is a major achievement, especially with all the challenges and stressors you've coped with at the same time. Lovely to hear you still get time in your garden to earth and grow, in both senses of the words.
My year has been overall progress for the better, but also with some challenges. I've remained relatively stable with the bipolar too, but still have pretty major cPTSD challenges at times. I was eventually approved for NDIS funding in July last year and have had support workers and weekly psychology (which I could not afford otherwise) as a result. And a small transport allowance. All of which add up to having been able to get involved and do workshops with the local writers centre and womens centre, complete a bridge play beginners' course, go to water tai chi twice a week, use Shebah rides occasionally by myself, and more. So I've developed in a few ways more than for many years before - socially, mentally and with independence and have new friendships with a couple of women where the focus is not on mental health. Generous women who give me a lift so I can do a couple more things every week. My annual review approaches now and is a source of increased anxiety but I think I'll be prepared by the time it happens - planning meeting in less than 2 weeks.
I also managed being home alone with the dog for a month recently and didn't fall in a heap. I live in a cabin in my bro and sil's back yard and they went overseas for the month. That was a major achievement for me, thanks to all the supports I now have in place.
I've also managed to stay out of hospital. Here's cheers to growing awareness of how to manage bipolar!! And continued insight!
Much love to you too. It's great to hear from you xx
